Welcome to Barefoot Farm! Our Berners are family raised, loved and taught to be gentle with the "lit So to us, testing is pointless.

Our Bernese are family & farm-raised on 50 beautiful acres in Southeast Ohio. Our goal is to provide you with a companion that has unrivaled beauty, outstanding temperament, personality, health, & longevity. Our dams and sire are AKC registered and we have carefully selected each one. Countless hours are devoted to the breed and raising our puppies to optimize your experience with Bernese Mountain

Dogs. We have invested in thorough research in the areas of: testing, diet, health, and socialization so you can be confident that your new companion is everything you wished for. We take care of our Bernese with a fine combination of holistic, yet common sense approach. Our furry friends receive their immunizations and are dewormed on a regular basis. Through the summer months they receive NexGard and any necessary medication, but we strive to minimize their exposure to chemicals. Most of the parents to our sire and dams have been OFA tested and cleared. Our issues with these type of tests is that it doesn’t guarantee that their offspring will not be affected. We have tested through Embark and they were cleared and would not be affected of over 206 genetic diseases. . I can say our Bernese are healthy, have no joint issues or diseases. Our babies are socialized and handled daily to provide you a well-adjusted and confident puppy. They are wooled and loved on by both little and big humans so they are ready for family life. The day they are born they are handled, and as they progress in age a multitude of stimuli are introduced including sights, sounds, temperature, and smell. We work on grooming, sensory substrates, limited separation from litter mates, rain training, and stairs. It is important that you continue socialization between 8-12 weeks since this is the Fear Imprint Period. Expose them to as many unique situations as possible to allow them to continue to grow into confident companions. Please do not hesitate to message us if you have any questions.

“All of us are musicians and Gomer (Cheddar) is our number one fan! He loves to climb on my lap when I play. He loves car rides, pup cups, and trying to catch frogs around the pond at night. We love Gomer so much, he is the smartest dog we have ever had!”

Teresa updated us on Mavis. She is a busy pup and has her humans right where she wants them…showering her with love and cuddles.🥰

“Mavis (formerly Swiss) is doing Excellent. She is the sweetest pup and LOVES everyone! She has brought so much happiness into our world. Shes a ham for massages, toys, car rides, FOOD, counter surfing, water, showers, playing with everyone and every animal. Her personality is amazing and funny at the same time. She is a derp but super smart. Absolutely the happiest dog we’ve ever known. She’s 1.5
yrs old now and 115
pds. She makes sure that she is the center of attention but makes
it very easy. If you aren’t looking at her, she has a signature grumble she does to make sure you give her all the loving. 😂🩷 We Love her so much. 🥰 Here are some recent pics. (edited)”

This little guy is what started our family’s love of Bernese Mountain Dogs. Boone taught us how friendly, sweet, and funny Berners can be. We are dedicated to having healthy, happy pets that are part of our family and to be able to share this wonderful breed with other loving families. Our children and grandchildren are essential in this family adventure, and help with the responsibility of raising them.

We are not “Big Breeders” or a puppy mill. We have 3 Bernese; when you have one, you can’t help yourself, you collect more. Lacey, Scout, and now Sage are a big part of our family and have the run of our farm. When nature takes it course, we have puppies, and are excited to find caring families that take them on new adventures.
