🐾 Rook Update: Now Mosby! ❤️

Some of you may remember Rook, who was adopted from us in November 2025. Earlier this month, we learned that he had been found at a truck stop in Franklin, KY. Simpson County Animal Control and the truck stop had been trying for over a month to catch him, but this scared boy finally walked right up to the gentleman who would become his new dad. 🥹

And now? Mosby is HOME. 🏡❤️

His new family recently took him on a road trip to Michigan, and he did wonderfully! His dad shared that Mosby was so afraid they would leave him at the rest stops that getting him to go potty added an extra hour to their trip. 💔 But by the time they returned home, he was already becoming much more comfortable.

His dad summed it up perfectly:

“It was just so sad, but the trip went great and he definitely started to feel more comfortable by the time we returned… he's just such a wonderful addition to the family.”

We couldn't be happier to know this sweet boy is safe, loved, and finally home. ❤️

Rook may have started his story with us, but Mosby is where his happy ending begins. 🐶🏡💕

🐾 9 MONTHS LATER… MR. BOO BOO IS HOME! 🐾

Begheera, aka Mr. Boo Boo, went missing in November 2025. His owner reported him missing through our website, but months passed with no sign of him.

Then, 9 months later, a citizen found him and brought him to us to check for a microchip. He had one! 🥹 The chip led us to his owner, and we discovered this was Mr. Boo Boo who had been missing since that original report!

His owner was hit with every emotion imaginable...excitement, shock, disbelief, relief. We were so happy to reunite them. ❤️

This is why microchipping your pets AND keeping your information updated is SO important! We see too many pets with chips that lead to dead ends because their information was never updated.

Thankfully, this one had a very happy ending. 🥰 Welcome home, Mr. Boo Boo! 🏡❤️

Sumner County Animal Services will be open during our normal business hours on Friday and closed on Saturday, July 4th, in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

We'll reopen with our regular operating hours after the holiday.

We hope everyone has a fun, safe, and happy Fourth of July! ❤️🤍💙 Don't forget to keep your pets safe by ensuring they have secure identification, a safe place indoors during fireworks, and plenty of fresh water. 🎆🐾

🚨 SCAM ALERT – PAWS & PUMPKINS VENDORS 🚨

It has come to our attention that fraudulent emails are being sent to vendors claiming to be from our 3rd Annual Paws & Pumpkins event. These emails state that booth spaces are limited and request payment to reserve a spot.

Please do NOT respond or send any money. This is a scam.

Sumner County Animal Services will NEVER charge vendors or request payment to participate in Paws & Pumpkins or any event we host.

We are currently investigating this issue and working to get to the bottom of how these emails are being distributed.

If you receive one of these emails:
❌ Do not send payment.
❌ Do not provide any personal or financial information.
📧 Please forward the email to us so we can continue investigating.

Thank you to everyone who has already alerted us to this scam. We appreciate your help in spreading the word and protecting our vendors. If you have any questions about communications regarding Paws & Pumpkins, please contact Sumner County Animal Services directly.

🚨 We are dangerously full 🚨

We’ve taken in a large number of animals in the last week from back-to-back cruelty, abandonment, and safekeeping cases, and they’re coming in faster than they’re leaving.

We’re now doubling up kennels just to make space.

Adoption fees are still WAIVED! We need adopters, fosters, rescues, anyone who can help. Even sharing this post makes a difference.

Every open kennel gives another animal a chance.

Please come adopt or help however you can. Time matters. 🐾
