When calling our office to schedule for cats with respiratory or neurologic signs, please allow extra time and be patient. We will be obtaining a more involved history over the phone before scheduling those types of appointments. There may be instances where you'll be asked to wait for a call back from a doctor or credentialed technician before getting scheduled by our front desk staff. Thank you for your understanding!

Cats appear to be particularly susceptible to H5N1 influenza A.

Balancing family and vet med has always been a great challenge. In the coming week, Dr Blake will be off to help with his newborn who arrived on Dec. 31. Our office is still open normal hours and there will be some appointment availability with Dr. Kristi to help with coverage. We appreciate your understanding and patience with the limited availability we’ve had over the holiday and during the coming week!

It costs $500-$3000 to treat pancreatitis. Our recommendation is to feed your pet their normal food this Thanksgiving. Nothing else. Nothing more. They’ll enjoy your company all the same.

Our North Star

We believe in building and preserving connections between people, pets, and the places in which they live.

We understand that your pet is a part of your family and we recognize that families are inextricably linked to place. Everything we do is done in an effort to ensure you, your pet, and your community have a healthy, prosperous, and sustainable future. We do this by being actively engaged with our local region and by providing a broad range of veterinary services with individualized care, compassion, and a commitment to excellence and service to others. Ultimately, we not only value your business, but the intrinsic worth of you and your pet.

We acknowledge the need for locally owned clinics with a personal touch. It is Galesburg Veterinary Clinic's wish to restructure the prevailing value systems embraced by the more consolidated hospitals by providing consistent and individualized care. Our services are provided by a doctor who will know your pet, and deliver care thoughtfully and at a fair price. We have only three stakeholders— People, Pets, and Place — and although we strive to be profitable, profitability and growth are not innate tenants of our practice philosophy but a means to preserve and improve the environment, animal resources, public health, and quality of veterinary care we provide.
