ISO part-time worker (independent contractor) for maintenance/construction projects at our small ranch. We have a 14,400 sqft equestrian center that was built in 1980. There are things that need to be done to protect it, like stop leaks and replace rotted boards. There are things that need to be done to make it more energy efficient, like insulation installation. There is an unfinished apartment which has almost all the electrical done, needs a little framing work, needs some plumbing work, and needs insulation, drywall installation and finishing.
Another project involves completing a storage room. It already has drywall on the inside but needs insulation, a roof, and outer walls. This is in the center of the large building so rain/snow is not an issue.
There are exposed pipes that were used for horse waterers. I want to dig down and cap those pipes below the surface of the dirt floor.
The metal roof leaks in a few minor places. I have been using tape to stop the leaks and it works.
Fencing is always in need of mending.
There are some 6x6 posts that seem to have been pressed into the ground by the weight of hay on the upper floor (or maybe they rotted below the surface). So the ceiling has sagged in some places. I want to correct this issue somehow.
I have mechanical equipment that needs to be maintained.
Many of the walls in the horse stall area have rotted boards that allow cold air to get in. This could use attention.
The rental apartments have popcorn ceilings that I want to remove. Some of the tape around the edges of the drywall has come loose. They could use some paint too.
I want to reinforce our chicken stalls to keep critters out.
I want to build a pigeon coop and capture the pigeons that are all over the place. I plan to include them in our petting zoo.
So, there are lots of little projects and some bigger projects. I can do all of it myself but it would take me a very long time. So, I am looking to hire someone to assist with these projects and others. During the winter there are plenty of indoor projects and in spring, summer, and fall I try to do the outdoor projects.
Thanks,
Roger Burton
