Introducing our Grow Gainesville! Give-and-Get Garden Gatherings, a collaborative gardening program where members can give gardening help in member garden/homestead or community gardens through an organized G6 event and in return earn points to get help in their own garden via their own G6 event.

The program will operate on a point system: one point is earned per hour donated helping in another garden through an organized G6 event.

When a Grow Gainesville member accumulates ten points they will earn a G6 event.
Events will be planned at least one month in advance and advertised via Facebook (posts and the creation of an event).

🥬 👩🏻‍🌾 🌿 🥗 🪴👨🏾‍🌾 🍎 🌸 🐝

Additional info:
For providing time and resources to our members through other Grow Gainesville initiatives, specifically for hosting a garden tour, leading an extra special workshop, or being a 3rd Monday Meeting speaker, two points will be earned.

To kick start the program we are going to backdate point earnings to January 2024. All 2024 garden tour hosts, ESW presenters, and 3rdMM speakers will earn two points.

Our coordinator is Jessica McMahon

Foods marked with an [*] were main staples and those with an [* were main foods for at least part of the year. I have generally structured each section in order of the foods that I ate the most coming first in the list. Note that I have not listed all varieties of some of the plants I grew and foraged. For links with details for these plants, see The 300 Foods I Grew and Foraged in the online resources section.
