𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐚 𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬, 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐝—and for one unforgettable night, the heart of the western sport met the heart of a nation. 𝐁𝐢𝐠 𝐆𝐮𝐧𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐨𝐰𝐧 was more than an event. It was a moment that mattered, all in support of a truly great cause: the 𝐍𝐑𝐂𝐇𝐀 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.
With 𝐖𝐚𝐫 𝐇𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐕𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬 as part of the evening, the night brought together the power of the horse, the spirit of our sport, and the stories of those who have sacrificed so much for our country.
Two worlds came together to celebrate what the NRCHA is truly about — sharing our sport with others and honoring the men and women who put it all on the line for our freedom.
Having the privilege of working with 𝐉𝐑 𝐕𝐞𝐳𝐚𝐢𝐧 has left a mark on me that goes far beyond the arena. I came into it thinking I was there to coach, but I walked away with a much bigger lesson. JR reminded me what it looks like to keep showing up, to believe when things get hard, and to never let someone else’s expectations define your limits. His faith, grit, and determination have challenged me to look at my own life differently—and to remember that we are capable of so much more than we sometimes believe.
JR has shown the world that with faith and perseverance, the impossible can become possible. I’m grateful I got to be a small part of his journey, and I know the lessons he’s taught me will stay with me long after this night.
