Have you ever stopped to ask if the worship we offer is acceptable to God? We think because we are sincere in our worship, or that it makes me feel good, or that we do sing about God and the minister's sermons are about Him, then this must be acceptable worship before God. You will find many instances throughout scripture with sincere people, who sincerely worshiped the true God and felt strong emotions in their worship, of the true God, however, God rejected not only their worship, but He rejected them. Why? Details, not at 11, but at 6:30, on Thursday, September 20th, at the Mellow Mushroom. See you then.

Dealing with Objections to the Resurrection

When telling others about the message of the gospel, objections of various kinds inevitably arise. So how are we to answer the person who claims that Jesus never really died on the cross, or that the miracle stories associated with Christ are complete fabrications? The resurrection distinguishes itself from all other religions on this very issue of Christ Risen. If that can be proven to be false, then all of Christendom collapses.

This is a great opportunity to invite that person, young or old, who believes that Christ Risen is simply a myth, to our next White Horse Inn meeting as we discuss the objections to the Resurrection.

Join us, and bring a friend, student or a co-worker on, May 17th, at 6:30 pm, at the Mellow Mushroom for some in depth discussion, of the historical claims of the resurrection of Christ.

The Reformers believed that the article of “ Justification by faith,” specifically, the imputation of Christ Righteousness to the believer through faith in Christ alone, is the Gospel. To deny this or any part of this doctrine was to deny the gospel.

Join in on the discussion, as we listen and discuss this” life and death” doctrine. We will meet at the Mellow Mushroom, at 6:30 pm., on Thursday, April 19.

Compared with an action-packed movie, most people would probably characterize the ministry of word and sacrament as “boring.” So in order to reach out, should churches make their services more entertaining? Joining the panel for this discussion is Richard Winter, author of Still Bored in a Culture of Entertainment.

Join us at the White Horse Inn, Thursday, March 15th, at 6:30 pm at the Mellow Mushroom.
