Location: Marion County, FL

This 4–5 month old male Husky puppy was found wandering the streets of Marion County with no collar, tags, or microchip. He’s currently at Marion County Animal Services, waiting to see if anyone comes forward to claim him.

If no one does, Swampland Husky Rescue will step up to save him on Thursday — but we cannot do it without a committed foster.

He’s just a baby, full of potential, and deserves a second chance at a safe, loving home. We cover all vetting and supplies — you provide the love and a safe place to land.

💔 Today Was Hard 💔

We brought Blue to the UF Small Animal Hospital today to see a neurologist, hoping for answers. Instead, we left with more questions.

No new medications.
No recommendation for imaging.
Just an increased dose of Keppra — because her current dose was too low.

They also recommended more bloodwork, even though she just had some done, to establish a “baseline” in case we start phenobarbital later. We walked out spending $285... and it’s hard not to feel like it was a waste of already-stretched rescue funds.

👉 The new plan:
• Increase Keppra
• Start a CBD supplement
• Keep logging her seizures
• Wait and hope for better days

We’ve spent almost $800 in just one week on Blue’s care alone — and we’re still no closer to real answers.

🚨 URGENT: Blue Needs Your Help 🚨

Blue had another seizure last night. Today at 1 PM, she has an emergency neurology appointment at the UF Small Animal Hospital. We're preparing for a heartbreaking estimate of $5,000–$6,000 just for the imaging she needs to determine the cause of her epilepsy.

This doesn’t include the new medications we’ll likely be starting today — or the mountain of vet bills we’re already drowning in.

We're doing everything we can to give Blue the chance she deserves. But between her care and feeding and vetting the rest of our rescue dogs, we're going broke.

💔 TWO MONTHS MISSING – STILL NO ANSWERS ABOUT MAX 💔

It’s been two months since Max disappeared under suspicious circumstances, and we are no closer to the truth.

We’ve been met with silence, conflicting stories, and ultimately a cold dismissal from the City of LaGrange, Georgia—where law enforcement told us to “stop calling” and “hire a lawyer.” But we’re a nonprofit rescue. We can’t afford to hire legal help just to get justice for a dog who depended on us.

Max was described as “extremely friendly.” We were told he “ran down the road,” but that “road” was I-75—one of the most dangerous highways in the country. If we had been told the truth about where Max was last seen, we could have deployed drones, search teams, and had a chance at finding him. Instead, we received inconsistent and delayed information that made it impossible to act in time.

The people responsible—Jane Murphy and John Henry—have never been held accountable. And sadly, the city is protecting them.

This has shaken our rescue to its core. We’ve saved countless dogs from Georgia shelters, but after this experience, we may never be able to work in that state again. The loss of Max and the injustice surrounding his disappearance is heartbreaking—and infuriating.

🧭 We will never forget Max.
⚖️ We will not stay silent.
🐾 We will continue fighting for every dog’s life and safety.

Update on Roger, now Orion! 🌟

Remember Roger? He was so close to being euthanized at Lee County Domestic Animal Services just for pulling on the leash. 😢 But thanks to YOUR support and a wonderful adopter, he’s now living his best life as Orion! 💫

Orion has fully settled into his forever home and is absolutely thriving. He’s happy, loved, and finally gets to be the dog he was always meant to be. Seeing him flourish after such a close call is everything we work for. 💙
