Experience America’s Most Scenic Shopping Destination during the 2025 World’s Longest Yard Sale — August 7–10 in Gadsden, Alabama

The sale begins atop Lookout Mountain and stretches for hundreds of miles north. It officially kicks off at Noccalula Falls Park, with hundreds of vendors set up in the main parking lot.

Please note that Thursday, August 7 is also the first day of school for Etowah County. Remember to exercise extra caution and patience on local roads, especially along Tabor Road northeast of Noccalula Falls.

We are proud to recognize Anderson Roberts for the outstanding work he accomplished this summer while completing a prestigious internship in the Office of U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville, a leader poised to become Alabama’s next Governor.

Anderson is currently pursuing a degree in Ethics, Politics, and Economics at Yale University, with a certificate in Energy Studies. He will return to campus this fall to continue his academic and professional journey. He represented the City of Gadsden with excellence, integrity, and ambition in our nation’s capital. 🎉 You're invited! Join us for the official ribbon cutting of Phase 4 of the Gadsden Sports Park on Wednesday, August 6 at 9:00 AM.

This latest expansion includes two new turf baseball fields, soccer practice fields, a concession stand and tournament office, as well as additional pickleball courts. The Gadsden Sports Park continues to be a key part of our city’s investment in quality of life, tourism, and community development.

Those in need of a quality, quick cup of coffee will soon be able to grab one from 7 Brew as Gadsden will be home to the company’s newest location.

“This is a great fit for Gadsden. We’ve got several highly traveled highways and interstates coming through town, so it makes sense to have a drive-thru coffee shop for everyone to enjoy,” says Mayor Craig Ford.

7 Brew is opening stores in 16 states this summer, with work on the Gadsden location expected to begin later this year.

The business will be located on East Meighan Blvd. at the former Shoney’s location, and 7 Brew will be investing $3 million to renovate and improve the property. It’s expected to bring 10 to 20 jobs, including part-time positions.

You can drop off new, unwrapped toys at City Hall or at The Venue (Expo) between 9 AM and 3 PM.
