Sharptails opened last weekend but I held a VGP/HZP and didn't get out. So I have been hunting before work this week. Haven't seen a lot of young covey's, and birds been kinda jumpy, but Dulia vom Brosius has been doing some nice work.

That day came today, that we have to make decisions that are sometimes inevitable. We shared a lunch of chips, cheese and beer where he consumed most of it. Then took him out to my property over looking areas he had numerous memorable hunts and got a few fun retrieves in. Before we headed to the vet.

I can't describe what he meant to me, in 14 1/2 years he has done it all! Hunted the Chesapeake Bay sea ducks to Arizona mearns quail from Montana grouse to ducks on the outer banks and almost everything in between. Made retrieves that I questioned myself on sending him on. He has hung out in places like New Orleans, Boston, Savannah, the Catskills and pi**ed on 42 states. He is introduced me to my longest and closest friends and helped me make me a better person. Thank you for sharing your life with me.

Dasi vom Brosius has joined the family. She is out of Alexa vd Grasfluren and I am very excited for this breeding after seeing what Alexa produced in her first litter. Now we wait for spring arrive to get her on what birds survived this winter. Which may be June!! ;)

My Texas trip got extended thanks to the shutdown and I still apparently came back to early. Had some boat issues the first 4 days, but hunting was great, beautiful weather, ate well, and whole family came down to spend the holiday.
