Connie has always loved taking care of animals and knew that owning a business of her own would be a rewarding experience. So, in 2012 she made the leap, took the risk, and combined the two into a passion that has no

w become a personal and community success, and Wags to Riches was born! She made the commitment to educate herself on how to groom, got certified, and started working out of her home salon. As her small business grew and her clientele grew with it, she encountered her first set-back. In 2016, Connie was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to fight a new battle. In typical Connie fashion, she rolled up her sleeves, determined to fight cancer and move on with her life, by mentoring, training and employing her step- daughter, Carsen Bowen, to groom and help operate the business. While Connie was fighting breast cancer and dealing with surgeries, her step-daughter was busy managing Wags to Riches and successfully keeping it going. In July 2017, with a successful dog-grooming business and growing clientele, Connie and Carsen became partners and moved into a storefront location in Fuquay-Varina. During the next 4 years, the salon grew and became even more successful because of the one commitment they keep for their client’s - to never crate any of the dogs and to always “groom with a personal touch”. Wags to Riches is a woman owned small business and a true success story! Today, Carsen has moved on and started her own salon, but Wags to Riches continues to thrive and grow. Connie credits the success to the talented, hard-working and dedicated staff at the salon. She says her team is by far the most dedicated, caring and reliable team that any owner could wish for. “Without these girls, Wags wouldn’t be as successful as we are today”, says Connie. Wags to Riches commitment to its employees, its clients, and the “fur babies” has always been the number one priority, and they promise to continue to follow the policies and practices that keep clients happy and returning week after week. Wags To Riches is a crate free grooming salon that offers dedicated service to its clients. We take pride in providing a service that most salon’s do not offer: a crate-free method of grooming and scheduling our clients to the exact time needed to complete the groom. Our mission is to provide less stress for the dog and quicker completion of grooming sessions to allow a more positive, safe, and stress-free environment for both the animal and the owner.

Thursday May 1st we will open the July 2025 through December 2025 calender. Please remeber we will NOT book your appointments automatically, you will need to reach out to us. Whether you leave us a voicemail, text or email please be sure to include as much information as possible about your future appointment requests. For example how frequently you want to come in as well as day of week and morning, mid day or afternoons. If you are already a client that is scheduled on Saturdays we will continue to honor your Saturday appointments. At this time we are at capacity for Saturday appointments.

We’ve lost a very special client that started with me when I first started grooming out of my garage. She was vibrant, smart, sweet and loving. We send our love to her husband Dan Johnson and her sweet puppies Bella and Bentley. Cancer doesn’t have an age or time, it just comes and takes from us. You will always be in our hearts.

Update on our new location that is coming soon. We have had a minor set back that has caused us to move our grand opening from April 26th, 2025 until further notice. We are hoping to be able to announce the new grand opening sometime in May. Thank you for your support and patience while we prepare for our new adventure.

Message from Owner: Soot is a big sweetie! Very loved by her fellow doggie sister and three little human kiddos. She will likely come right up to you looking for snuggles.

Last seen in Fern Valley neighborhood in Fuquay.

Description: Looks like a doodle. Mostly black but with gray mixed all over. Medium size, nearly 50 lbs. Rust colored collar.

We are excited to announce that Wags to Riches is moving to a new space, and we want YOU to join us for the grand opening celebration!

Come visit us on Saturday, April 26th from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM to tour at 2245 Grassland Ave, Fuquay Varina, NC 27526.

Celebrate with us - Everyone is welcome but we ask that you leave your fur babies at home due to the volumn of guests that we are expecting!

In addition to our signature grooming services, we’re thrilled to offer daycare and boarding for your pets.

The Wags Story
Wags to Riches was founded in May 2013 by Connie Williams, who made the leap from the corporate world to follow her passion for animals and small business ownership.

After years of loving care for her pets and realizing her dream of running a business, she took the plunge in 2012, combining her love of animals with her entrepreneurial spirit.

Connie’s journey was not without its challenges. In 2016, she was diagnosed with breast cancer but faced the challenge head-on, never letting it stop her mission, hard work, and dedication to making her dream a reality.

In July 2017, Connie expanded into a storefront in Fuquay-Varina, continuing to grow the business and its loyal clientele.

Over the years, Wags to Riches has grown into a beloved local brand, known for its dedication to never crating dogs during grooming and providing personalized, high-quality service.

The Wags to Riches team has seen many changes over the years but continues to grow and thrive, thanks to the hard work and dedication of its incredible staff. Connie credits the success of Wags to Riches to her team, saying, “Without these girls, Wags wouldn’t be the success that it is today.”

Please keep a look out for a Wags family member whose dog walked away from her yard last night unexpectedly. Her name is Dakota and she is very friendly and happy. She is a senior dog. We hope to bring her home to her family soon!

She lives in the Whitehurst Community off of James Slaughter Rd and Bass Lake Rd

She is microchipped but did not have a collar on.
