The two young Peruvian Harris’s hawks are getting their feathers and that will help them stay warm as the weather cools. They seem to be at the “brancher” stage meaning they will soon leave the nest basket and start exploring on their own prior to testing their wings.

Two young saker females recently pulled and brought in to weigh and assess. The one lying on the perch is still experiencing a bit of what falconers call “hood faint”. They aren’t used to the lights going out artificially but they recover quickly and they are both sitting normally on their perches now.

Saker falcon first time outside for training. Good attention to what she’s doing. Beautiful while doing what you ask of them. They really are the falconers falcon!
