They are loyal, intelligent and beautiful animals and it breaks our hearts to think of them suffering or dying in shelters, or worse yet, dumped on the street. We are a 100% all volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit rescue. We are funded through adoptions and donations from people just like you. Our hardworking and dedicated team is made up of GSD lovers who give up their time to care for and find loving

forever homes for the dogs in our program. The team has fostered and saved over 1,500 German Shepherd Dogs since we began in 2013! Most of our dogs come from shelters where they have been abandoned. Some come from owners who, no longer able to care for them, give their dog to us to find a loving forever home. The good news is that we encounter few dogs that we feel have been abused or seriously mistreated. Each dog that comes into our program is evaluated to the best of our ability. Our evaluators have many years of experience with the breed and have spent many hours learning dog behavior and language, worked with trainers, spent countless hours at shelters, etc. We strive to have dogs in our program that are people and dog friendly and we are firm believers in providing our adopters with full behavioral and medical disclosure on every dog in our program. Our dogs are placed in a foster home that is experienced with the breed or a daycare facility where they are evaluated for social skills with other dogs. Once we have spent some time getting to know each dog, we make the dog available for adoption. When you apply to adopt one of our dogs you will go through our adoption process where we learn more about you, your experience and your lifestyle. Our goal is to make a perfect match so our dogs stay with their new family and everyone is off to a good start. Many of our adopters decide to volunteer by fostering, fundraising, walking/grooming/transporting dogs or becoming matchmakers and helping more dogs find that perfect home. It’s a rewarding activity (no matter how big or small your role) that every rescue (and rescue dog) is grateful for. If you don't have the time to volunteer, you can donate. We can’t believe Rosie hasn’t been adopted! Here’s an update from her foster:

She’s a good girl every minute of every day. This weekend she went to the mall and met lots of new people and we went on a 4 mile hike where she crossed paths with at least 30 dogs and either ignored them or had an appropriate greeting. She even has full run of the house and yard when we are gone because she never gets into any trouble.

Do you want an easy breezy forever best friend? Rosie just might be your girl.

My name is Chloe. I'm a beautiful black and tan 3 year old girl with red highlights and I'm looking for my new home. I was in a home prior to my brief stay at the shelter so I know how to behave. I have all my basics like sit, down, stay and even shake and my recall is not bad. I'm a big girl at 86 lbs so you need to like big dogs. I've been a bit stationary for a few months but getting back in shape now that I'm in a foster home with handsome boy dogs - must look good you know.

Anyway, I'm a friendly girl and like to be around my people. I also like the company of other dogs and I'm having a blast playing with so many new friends. I might be a little barky at first but I get over myself pretty quickly and then it's PLAY TIME. Just so you are well prepared, I love the water, really, I love the water. I would like to have a pool or even a wading pool in my new home. What girl doesn't want to sun herself by the water with a fresh bowl and a chew bone?

I do ok on leash but every once in a while I pretend I'm a husky pulling sleds in the snow.....just kidding.....but I could use a little work on the pulling stuff. I do try though and my people are helping me work on it. My current foster says I could be a 'coffee shop dog' whatever that means. It may have something to do with my manners when I'm out and about. I also like to ride in the car and will jump in. If it's one of those cool cars that sit up way high I might need a little bit of assistance as us girls must look poised when getting in and out of cars.

While I think I would really enjoy some fun adventures, new places, a bit of travel, I'm also ok having a nice dinner and catching a movie with my family. I am a healthy girl with all my vetting done. I don't mind handling and being told how pretty I am and I like a good brushing. I'm sure I would enjoy a bath because it's in WATER. Just throw in the soap and I'll do the rest.......but really, I think I would really enjoy all the "me time" and that rub down at the end....heaven.

Oh, if you have cats I'm not sure yet how I feel about that but there's one that lives here and I'll be checking it out soon and will let you all know. Housetrained? Hi! I'm Ember. I’m basically the total package wrapped up in fur — sweet, silly, adaptable, and always ready to love you with my whole heart. I'm a healthy girl and am on the smaller side at about 62 pounds. I can turn just about anywhere into home as long as I get to be with my people. I adore humans, make friends easily, and have a soft spot for anyone willing to play a good game of tug-of-war with me. Fair warning: I take tug very seriously… but in the cutest way possible.

I’m great with other dogs and love having buddies to play with, but I also believe in the importance of balance. After zooming around and having fun, I fully commit to what I call my “professional recovery naps.” Cozy bed? Sunny spot on the floor? Perfect. Do not disturb unless snacks are involved.

I’m also a pretty easy roommate. I rarely bark, I’m house trained, crate trained, and I hop in the car like I’ve got important business meetings to attend. Whether we’re going on adventures or just hanging out at home binge-watching shows together, I’m happiest just being part of the family.

Basically, if you’re looking for a sweet girl with a playful spirit, good manners, and excellent napping skills, I might just be your perfect match.
