Having to remind myself we are out of the goats…this was one of those does I kicked myself for selling - but she went to the perfect home. Her granddam (Celina) and her great grandam (Jazzy’s Moon ) - were incredible. Celina won ribbons at multiple Nationals as did her dam, but Jazzy also cleaned house as Overall National Grand Champion % Doe at 2021 Nationals, as well as a slew of other banners…

And that kid on her side looks fantastic- what a great pair. What an opportunity.

Sharing for a friend that has had to make a hard decision-this doe was a big part of our amazing success at 2023 ABGA Nationals. She proved last year that she makes great progeny as well.

If you like a good blonde % doe to have already bred and from lines of successful show and producers you may want to check her out.

Not our goats - I swear!

But really enjoy walking out in the nursery to see someone else’s goat kids that we are not responsible for..I do not miss kidding season, except for the sweet babies that make it through. The nursery looks like a nursery again. It’s hard to call it anything else.

With John’s efforts, a path is now basically cleared between the river and the fence for walking dogs and hacking horses with no need to go in the pasture. Now we should be able to make rideable paths into the river too.

This evening, partial Dog pack - Wilbur, Jazzy, and Jolene, checked it out with John…with Flor and Steph checking it out the from a horse perspective.

This area is a favorite on the farm at sunset… always just gorgeous, colorful views.

Cattle looking happy with this cool fall weather.

Late June calves ‘River’ (red heifer) and ‘Rusty Boots’ (young highpark bull) are growing well.

River (75% Highland /25% British White - haven’t dna’d but expect her color is yellow and she is polled) will be available at weaning.

At this point we are thinking we will be retaining ‘Boots’ (50 Highland /50 BW).

She made it!

ESSENCIA HM arrived this evening and is everything I hoped her to be. Many thanks to Liz Micheel for this opportunity.

I am still a bit shocked looking at a chestnut and a grey mare standing in my barn. But gosh I love these Lusitano’s - she walked off the trailer from Minnesota with that Lusitano confidence, curiosity and kindness. No drama, no fret, just a simple scan of the area to make sure it all meets her standards. 😉

I will have to say these Freeform Treeless Saddles are so functional, made with every thought in mind, and the craftsmanship is beautiful. And light as a feather. We met our wonderful friend Paulita trying to find a saddle that would fit Betsy (Clydesdale) and I count my blessings everyday that John found these saddles and Paulita who ironically was just over the mountain. ❤️

We are excited for newest Lusitano addition to arrive in the next week.

The opportunity to get an imported mare from Brazil, bred by Jose Carlos Garcia of Haras Modelo (HM) was one we could not pass up as another broodmare addition and possible riding project.

Look for more to come once she
arrives from her current home in Minnesota. Never thought a chestnut mare would ever be in our barn, on purpose. But here we go!
