Dont be afraid to dm us if your rattie isnt up to the standards you had been promised.

In order to keep our lines healthy and friendly we need to be kept up to date on the rats we adopt out. As we do sell test lines as well as some ag can jump generation.

So of you got a rat from us and they have health or temperament issues pleade dont be afraid to let us know. We are an open beek and will do out best to figure out to root of the problem as well as give helping tips on how to handle the rats on a less stressful way.

We also will ALWAYS take back any and all rats we adopt out. It is AGAINST our policy for you to rehome them without specific speaking to us the breeder.

As much as wed like to be a "tested" rattery we are not. Its not financially feasible for us.

However this is one of many reasons we ask that you take our rats to the vet within 30 days. That way if they do have anything we will know if it came from me or another source. However some vets may not test for this virus alone you may have to ask or there are home tests you can purchase as well.

Please be very careful with your ratties. Dont have play dates with other rats. Limit outdoor grass time, if you do take them outside make sure you know the area your at and the kind of animals that go there.

Be very careful at rat exspos and shows, as this is a breeding ground for disease and cross contamination.
A lot of rat disease come from cross contamination and high social settings.

Last update, sorry y'all.

If you've been around for a bit you may remember we tied to breeding pet mice.
Well we have decided mice are a bit much for us and well our lines arnt working out so well.
Unfortunately the breeder stock we got 3 yrs back has not been easy to work with.
With limited ethical breeders around we were unable to get ethical lines crossed in.
So we are discontinuing the mice breeding program.
We had a fun run 3 yrs of experimenting and test breeding we've learned a lot! Yet its time to say good by to the mice as they no longer bring joy and happiness to the program.

Its hard working with animals that don't want to be held, and or have constant uri's in their lines.

Non rat related.

Update on the mom cat and kittens!
Mom will be getting fixed next month and then she'll be on her way to her new home!
One of her babies panda, will also be getting fixed and hopefully will also be going to her new home soon too. All we are waiting on is panda to be the right weight to get fixed.

We still collecting funds for spay/nuter, and families for the other 4 kittens

Tried to get a pic of mom but shes doesn't sit still. 🫠

We'd like to announce that our doors for the season are now closed.
We dont plant to have any more available rats until next year.

There will be a few changes to the program.

*Due to some AG in the aguti lines we will be discontinuing them from our pet lines.
We never actually planned to breed aguti on their own so this will hopefully be an easy clean up.

*Down under line is no longer available for the public. We have had some issues with unpredictable temperaments. So we will be removing them temporarily from the public until we can fix the lines. Our du's are wonderful however theyre know to be opinionated and spicy.

Reasons for closing early this year.
- We would like to test breed a few new coat types and see if We can get them to pet status. Ie temperamental correction.

-We are working on correct a few lines for ag.

-We are planning to correct some siamese lines for eye sight issues.

- We always want to continue to focus on quality over quantity.

-We are a privet breeder and well, working with the public is exhausting.

We may still have some pop up avaliable rats throughout the yr however remember these are test lines not established lines.

On occasion we get a double rex (ddr), this time we got a siamese ddr. He is absolutely adorable!

This little bald bean will stay at the rattery as a beloved pet.
We do not sell any hairless coat types as pets.
We do not find it ethical to specifically breeding for them. When one does come along we keep them as pets.

Did you know its illegal to own domestic rats in Alaska.
Only a few places allow the albino (lab rat) verriant to be bred and kept as pets.
However it is illegal in most of the state to own any type of domestic or wild rat species/variation.

🐁 Many Alaskans keep and breed rats as pets 🐀. State laws allow only albino rats to be kept as pets. That means check for ✔️pure white fur 🐁 & ✔️pink eyes🐁 as indicators of ✔️legal pets. Rats with ✔️white fur 🐁 and ❌dark eyes 🐭 are 🚫 not legal. 🐀Rats with ❌fur any color other than white or ❌multi-color fur are not legal 🚫🐭🐀.
🐁🐭🐱🐷🐰🐠🐟🦜 No pet, rats or any other kind, should be released into the wild - that means not in your back yard, the neighborhood park, a nearby stream or pond, or the nearest forested area. Released pets will either succumb to Alaska’s harsh climate 💀🧟👻 or may become invasive species 🐍🐉. Native wildlife and fish are threatened by invasive species. Plus, releasing animal into the wild is prohibited by law.
✔️Check that your pet is legal, and if you’re no longer able to care for it, consider finding an alternate home.

The unfortunate time has come.

Littlefoot has retired!
This old man is over 2yrs old and has sired dozens of established lines and test lines.
He has raised babies and has been a public advocate for the rattery.
This boy had huge shoes to fill being Oaks grandson. He succeeded in every way! He out preformed, his grandfather. He had so much love for the ladies and fathered some amazing babies!

We are sad to see Littlefoot retire, but happy to have his blood is running through our lines and a dominant one at that!

Littlefoots son thicket will take his father place!
The bloodlines will continue.

Took a special trip to OR to drop off 3 boys.
These 3 boys are apart of the family not only because we bred them, but also because they went to one of our relatives.
We love when family takes interest in our little rat friends. Not everyone likes rats so so when yoir family supports you it makes a huge thing. ❤️
