Every dog has a whole different energy when they leave the salon. Some strut out like they just finished a runway show. Some immediately try to roll in the grass. Some go straight home and nap for three hours like the whole experience was deeply exhausting.

Matted fur is more than a cosmetic issue. When a coat gets matted, it pulls on the skin constantly, traps moisture and bacteria underneath, and can hide infections, hot spots, and even parasites that are impossible to see from the outside.

The fix is not always as simple as brushing it out at home, especially once the mats are tight against the skin. In those cases, the coat has to come off to let the skin breathe and heal properly.
