Just three short months ago, Pepper was malnourished and pretty shy. These days, she's gaining confidence and truly coming into her own. We couldn't be happier with the outcome so far! We've got a little way to go, but we'll get there! Isn’t she beautiful? #🐴

Guess who got her feet done and did wonderfully? Our new big girl, Pepper! She joins Bentley, (forgot to get a pic of him) Scarlet, Dakota, Honey, and Temps as they strut around with fresh hoof care, all thanks to your generous donations.

Random photo dump of Pepper from the last week or so. She’s filling out! Yay.

After completing the vet-recommended round of the Panacure Power Pack, we’re thrilled to report that Pepper is showing some noticeably speedy improvement. We’ve also given her diet a little tweak, and while we know slow and steady wins the race, we’re buzzing with excitement to see her progress. She’s had her ups and downs, but this resilient lady is definitely on the right track!

Pepper is quite the character. She’s funny, full of kindness, and delightfully particular! Her ears have a language all their own, constantly swiveling in different directions, trying to figure out what’s going on around her. We've discovered that she outright rejects her hay if it’s served in anything but the ground—it’s floor service only for this diva. Her water? Only from a big trough, with no small buckets for this discerning lady, thank you very much. Though she has a cozy shelter, she rarely uses it. But those shavings on her side when I see her in the morning tell us a different story—I might need to put a camera in there. Ha! 😅

Thank you all for the wonderful vibes and prayers. Your support has helped her flourish, and she’s well on her way to feeling like her magnificent self again!

Please help us say a big thank you to Riley and the Girl Scouts for choosing Becky’s Hope.

Riley, a dedicated Girl Scout, took on an incredible project for her Gold Award: designing a unique structure for the goats that acts as both a nutritional stand and a fun playground.

Over 11 months, Riley worked with experts, raising the funds and planning the design. Her leadership brought together a group of dedicated volunteers, resulting in a sturdy platform that kept goat food out of reach of the non-climbing sheep. This separation was essential, as goats and sheep have different nutrient needs, ensuring the goats can get their minerals safely.

And that's not all—Riley's awesome structure isn't just practical; it's become the goats' and sheep's favorite place! They love scratching themselves with the brushes and laying under it for some much-needed shade. Riley's creativity and hard work mean Becky's Hope now has a cool new addition that the goats and sheep will absolutely love for years to come.

Exciting News!

We are beyond thrilled to announce that our sweet donkeys—Jill, Jedi, Frisco, and Boo-Boo—have been adopted together! After weeks of planning, it’s a perfect match. They will be joining two minis and another beautiful horse at a stunning property in Greenville, with a family that is loving, caring, and everything we could ever wish for them.

We couldn’t be happier that our donkeys will stay together, as they are so bonded. It truly is a dream come true! Please join us in congratulating this wonderful family and our donkeys on finding the perfect forever home. We love these donkeys dearly and are overjoyed at the amazing life awaiting them.

Chickpea and Kale, our bonded mule duo, are still looking for their forever family!

Rescued from a Louisiana kill pen back in April 2018, they were part of a group of 22 animals, lovingly called the LA 22. Since then, Chickpea and Kale have enjoyed the freedom of hundreds of acres, but they’re now ready for a permanent home to continue their life journey. Chickpea is the curious one, always up for a nose pat, while Kale is more reserved but with lots of love
and personal attention, both mules are sure to thrive.

What a gorgeous day we're having! With the sun shining and temperatures hitting a perfect mid 60’s ish, our goats and sheep are out in full force, soaking up all the rays and looking like the happiest little sunbathers. ☀️🐐🐑

During the last cold snap, our older goats and sheep were feeling the chill a bit more intensely, and we were concerned about how they'd manage, despite having thick layers of straw throughout their shelter. So, seeing them now, basking in the sunshine with smiles (or at least as close to smiles as a goats and sheep can get), is truly reassuring. Woo-hoo for warmer days!

Hey everyone! It's Charlie Brown here! Can you believe it's my 8th birthday?! (Born 2/21/2017!) Every year, I try to raise money for my favorite place, Becky's Hope Horse Rescue. I love being one of their ambassadors! This year, we need help with some hefty vet bills and a herd-wide worming …. yikes … thats a lot of tubes of wormer! Winter weather's hitting Texas hard, and we've spent the last few days prepping our animals for the cold. 🥶

Please help us say a heartfelt thank you to Holly, Mike, Andria, Cari, and Bryce for their incredible help! They stripped down the donkey and goat/sheep shelters, and Bryce even patched up some leaky holes on the donkey shelter. The fresh straw bedding will keep our animals warm and cozy. We're so grateful for this amazing team effort – it truly takes a village!

Update on our rescue Pepper!

Our little (huge) Pepper is doing great! She's slowly but surely packing on the pounds (much to her delight!), and is always excited to see her food... and us! 😍

But that's not the best part! Behold, Pepper's new neon pink halter! It's absolutely gorgeous on her, and you know what? Many of you know Diamond (our resident Pink Queen, who NEVER shares her barn color) has graciously allowed Pepper to rock this fabulous shade! Miracles DO happen! 😂💖
