🎃👻 Keep your pets safe this Halloween! 🐶🐱
Halloween fun can bring hidden hazards for furry friends. The ASPCA and AVMA remind pet parents to:
🍫 Keep candy (especially chocolate + xylitol) out of reach
🦴 Choose comfy, safe costumes — or skip them if pets seem stressed
🚪 Provide a quiet space away from trick-or-treaters
💡 Watch for décor dangers like candles, cords, and glow sticks
🏷️ Make sure ID tags + microchips are up to date

If your pet eats something spooky, call your vet or the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center (888-426-4435).

In honor of Pet Obesity Awareness, we want to share the importance of maintaining your pet’s weight:

🐾 Control portions: Measure meals and avoid free-feeding to prevent overeating.
🐾 Stay active: Add daily walks, playtime, or interactive toys to keep them moving.
🐾 Limit treats: Keep treats under 10% of daily calories and choose healthy options.
🐾 Hydrate: Provide plenty of fresh water to curb boredom snacking.
🐾 Check weight: Monitor regularly and consult your vet to stay on track.

Did you know storms in North Texas can catch pets off guard? Keep collars on, leash and carriers available, IDs up to date, and have a safe place ready.
Go even further by making sure your pet is microchipped (and info is current), and having their vet records in a safe place.
