Dear Friendswood Animal Advocates (FAA) Supporters and Followers:
We have been blessed by your support over the years and could not have made the impact on both owned and homeless pets without you! After twelve successful years serving the community, our members voted to dissolve FAA. All animals under our care have been adopted! All other animals we have promoted are with a specific rescue or are with an independent foster where they are being promoted for adoption.
As you have seen on this page over the past few months, many of our members have begun volunteering with a local rescue group called S.A.V.E. Rescue Coalition. SAVE has the same passion as FAA which is saving lives and preventing unnecessary births in Galveston County and surrounding areas. Monthly, SAVE holds multiple spay/neuter clinics for both dogs and cats in Galveston County. These services are free for qualifying residents. With FAA dissolving, many of our volunteers already have active roles at the clinics. Approximately 2,000 Galveston County cats and dogs were spayed or neutered as a result of these much-needed clinics in 2021. The goal is to decrease the number of animals entering already crowded Galveston County facilities, resulting in empty shelters! These clinics are officially named the Galveston County Empty Shelter Project on Facebook; however, they are funded by SAVE. PLEASE “like” and share posts from both pages!
There are many local rescue groups/organizations that provide assistance to the public and are always in need of volunteers and donations. Please check out their pages and support them:
