Dear Friendswood Animal Advocates (FAA) Supporters and Followers:

We have been blessed by your support over the years and could not have made the impact on both owned and homeless pets without you! After twelve successful years serving the community, our members voted to dissolve FAA. All animals under our care have been adopted! All other animals we have promoted are with a specific rescue or are with an independent foster where they are being promoted for adoption.

As you have seen on this page over the past few months, many of our members have begun volunteering with a local rescue group called S.A.V.E. Rescue Coalition. SAVE has the same passion as FAA which is saving lives and preventing unnecessary births in Galveston County and surrounding areas. Monthly, SAVE holds multiple spay/neuter clinics for both dogs and cats in Galveston County. These services are free for qualifying residents. With FAA dissolving, many of our volunteers already have active roles at the clinics. Approximately 2,000 Galveston County cats and dogs were spayed or neutered as a result of these much-needed clinics in 2021. The goal is to decrease the number of animals entering already crowded Galveston County facilities, resulting in empty shelters! These clinics are officially named the Galveston County Empty Shelter Project on Facebook; however, they are funded by SAVE. PLEASE “like” and share posts from both pages!

There are many local rescue groups/organizations that provide assistance to the public and are always in need of volunteers and donations. Please check out their pages and support them:

It's a GREAT DAY TO ADOPT a new family member!! **Please Share if you cannot adopt** It takes one click 🐾❤🐾

This week's pets of the week at the Galveston County Animal Resource Center in Texas City are SASHA and HEATH!

SASHA, a female DMH brown tabby, says "meow" and "hello" in her sweet kitty voice. Sasha is about 2 years old with soft fur and a fluffy tail. One can almost guess what she is thinking from her facial expressions and meow-meows. Sasha greets visitors and often shows off her tummy fur. Come meet her, fall in love and make her your pampered princess kitty.

HEATH is 2-year-old male Lab Mix and has coarse medium hair, golden brindle markings and honey-brown eyes. Health arrived not trusting humans and afraid, but fast-forward four months, with many humans making effort, and he has made amazing progress. One volunteer consistently made efforts to help him. He has always shown positive interest meeting other dogs and would likely thrive with another in his home. Heath may be a shy guy, but only the deserved will receive his sweet love and loyalty.

For more information on how to adopt or foster these pets, please visit Galveston County Animal Resource Center and gchd.org/arc.

Vivian and Ray
Are you looking for a beautiful pair of orange kitties to brighten your day and bound through your life? Ray and Vivian may be the perfect cats for you.

Ray and Vivian are a 2-year old brother and sister pair who are having to be rehomed because their dad is sick. They are a fun and active pair who need room to run and play. Wand toys and balls are favorite toys. They love to be petted, especially stroked from head to tail and will meow for their pets. They are not big on being held or snuggling, though. These two are too busy for that, especially if there is catnip to roll in.

While they are large and active cats, they are very gentle and do not use their claws on people. They make quite a picture striding around the house as an attractive pair. They are young, happy kitties looking for their new furever home.

Both are altered (spay/neuter), are current on all of their vaccinations, are microchipped, have had this month’s flea preventative, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV.

Please contact Amy Ross at 713 826 4271 if you are interested in adopting Ray and Vivian. Their adoption fee is $100.

***Vivian and Ray are not Friendswood Animal Advocates (FAA) animals. They are being promoted through FAA as a courtesy for their current care taker***

Hobbs - Adopted - January 2022

Hobbs is a "foster failure!" His finders are truly assets to the Friendswood Community. Not only did they find Hobbs, they had him neutered ASAP and helped him with injuries he had obtained by living on the streets of Friendswood. Once Hobbs was on his way to a full recovery he was introduced to the finders personal cats where Hobbs and one of the cats formed a sweet bond and began playing together. At this point, Nicholas and his wife knew they needed to add Hobbs to their family. We couldn't be happier!!

Macy - Adopted - January 2021
We are elated to announce that Macy has been officially ADOPTED!! We could not be happier for both Macy and his long-term foster Linda. We all knew that the purr-fect adopter would come a long. It just took longer than we hoped for but good things come to those that wait! Happy new life Macy!! 😻🐾
