**** MARGO STILL NEEDS A HOME****

This is Margo sleeping in Django’s old bed. Every other night she sleeps with me in my room. Her owner passed away suddenly and this girl has no home. She is 9 years old, good with cats, but picky with dog friends. She’s looking for a home to retire in.

Margo’s owner was fortunate while she was alive because she had so many friends. A lot of them have contacted me offering whatever support they can give. There was one reaccuring theme, it was how much Margo’s owner loved her. Many have said that Margo was everything to her.

There is another reality that needs to be addressed, I can’t keep her. I am not a rescue so PLEASE SHARE THIS so we can get her a loving home.

About ten years ago when I was still with the SPCA in Florida a good friend of mine from Palm Beach brought to my house the most gorgeous pittie named Star. It was Christmas Eve day and Star didn’t know it yet but she was about to get her Christmas dream.

She moved into the shelter manager Tia’s office and Tia loved her like her own. Star was super protective of her office and that deterred folks from adopting her. She had a large bark and wasn’t afraid to show you her pearly whites.

We made a video about her in the hopes of finding her a home where someone was going to accept her with all her quirks and that video did exactly what it was intended to do…it made its way to her future mom.

Linda drove down to meet Star and fell in love.

Star spent an incredible eight years with Linda and her family. She had twenty some acres to run wild on and shared her home with numerous other dogs. Star lived the life that every dog should get to live.

She passed to the Bridge today and her family is grieving their loss. Tia and I messaged with them all day today before they let her go and we’re so heartbroken for them.

Please keep Star and her family in your thoughts tonight. For those of you who remember the SPCA days, we’re sure you’ll remember the unforgettable Star Power.

Miss Molly is home! She sore and a bit out of it, but her little tail still goes a mile a minute. Her bestie Dobbie is excited to have his girl back home too. Thank you to everyone who made a donation last month. Because of those her surgery was paid in full. ♥️

UPDATE: Molly is out of surgery and in recovery. She had an unusual discharge that the vet was worried might be pyometra but turned out to be a large solid tumor that was growing on her uterine horn. The doctor was able to remove it and complete her spay. Molly received all of her shots, but unfortunately tested positive for Lyme disease. She’ll start treatment for that immediately and she comes home tomorrow!

Thank you to Dr Christy and Kelly at Coshocton Vet Clinic for taking excellent care of Molly today. Her kennel mate Dobbie will be happy to see her back at home tomorrow!

Our sweet Molly went in for her spay this morning but they’ve had some complications. She could use some prayers and good thoughts if you’re so inclined. I’ll update more later once I speak to the vet. Please spay and neuter your animals!

The ashes of the hit-by-car doggie we named Maizie are now home with us.

And one of the naughty white dogs decided she needed one last adventure before we spread them down at the bridge.

Last week I was traveling for work. My petsitter was coming to hang with Grades and Bims on Thursday and Friday. She had a family emergency on Friday so mom went over to walk them.

The night before I left I had gotten the ashes of the hit-by-car dog back and she was in a sealed wooden box, in a bag, in the kitchen.

Mom called me and asked if I had dog ashes of a dog named Maizie and I said yes. And then she said Maizie is now all over your house.

Apparently Grady was bored so he got into the bag and somehow opened the sealed wooden box that Maizie was in and ran allllllll around my house with the bag that now had a hole in it from his teeth!

Mom cleaned up as much as she could, but there’s still quite a bit of Maizie that is going to live eternally in the floor boards of my kitchen. She joins the ashes of my old office dog Gasper who also resides there because Grady also got into Gasper’s ashes when we were home from Florida on vacation one year and spread him all over, too.

Grady turns ten this year but he will always and forever be a puppy who keeps me on my toes. And I wouldn’t have it any other way! ♥️

We’ll post the video of sending Maizie off to the bridge sometime tomorrow. Another huge thank you to our friend Carla for covering Maizie’s vet bill in full. We love our friends.

This is Legend. And he was Grady’s bff in Florida. I’d pick Legend up on the mornings that Grady went to daycare. One morning I pulled in with them and opened the door to Dog Spot and one of the girls at the front desk yelled “THE PARTYS HERE!!!” as they both took off running like complete wild men. That pretty much summed up those two dogs and their antics.

Legend went to the Bridge today and we’re heartbroken for his mom. Please keep her in your prayers tonight. Legend was just that…a Legend and we’ll miss him greatly. ♥️

When I first moved back to Ohio four years ago, I was rolling around town in my dad’s old Suburban with four boxers and two black labs in the back. I pulled into the bank parking lot and a car pulled in beside me. It contained two of the most gorgeous boxers ever. I immediately needed to pet them and their owner was probably like who is this weirdo??!!

The owner of the boxers and I became friends and it turns out she lives one dirt road down from me.

Today she covered the vet bill for Maizie (the hit by car dog) in full.

Fate puts people in your lives sometimes because you need to meet them and be friends. That day at the bank was fate.

Thank you, Carla, for loving boxers as much as I do and for caring for all animals regardless of breed or species. You were a bright spot in the past 24 hours that weren’t the best. And I love you! ♥️
