Meet Artemis! šŸ¾

At 2 years old, this sweet Aussie/Heeler mix has the gentlest soul. Artemis is one of those dogs who just wants to be close to her people. She loves attention, enjoys being with her humans, and has a calm, affectionate nature that quickly wins people over.

Artemis does have some anxiety when left alone, so she's looking for a family that understands that change can be hard for some dogs. The good news? She's crate trained and does very well in her crate, which helps her feel safe and secure.

When it comes to other dogs, Artemis is more fearful than anything. New canine friends can be intimidating to her, and she prefers slow, proper introductions. Because of this, we believe she could potentially live with another dog that is respectful and willing to let her build confidence at her own pace.

Some dogs are good dogs, and then there's Buddy.

At just 45 pounds and maybe a foot tall, Buddy looks like someone took a regular-sized dog and shrunk the legs. With his stumpy little legs, long body, and constantly wiggling backside, he is impossible not to smile at.

But his personality is what really makes him special.

Buddy absolutely adores people. He is our go-to guy when children or seniors come in looking to spend time with the animals because we know exactly what they're going to get with him: a gentle, affectionate, happy dog who thinks every person he meets is a new best friend. Honestly, Buddy has never met a stranger he didn't like.

He's just as wonderful with other dogs. Buddy enjoys canine company and plays politely and respectfully with his dog friends. He doesn't need to be the center of attention, doesn't start drama, and is simply happy to be included.

There truly isn't a mean bone in Buddy's entire wiggly little body. He wakes up every day excited to love everyone around him and asks for very little in return besides some pets, a comfy place to nap, and a family to call his own.

These three siblings are the kind of kittens that make everyone smile. They are incredibly social, playful, and always eager to see what you're doing. Open their kennel door and they're immediately ready to greet you, investigate, and hopefully convince you that they belong in your home.

Cassius, the brown tabby boy, is a handsome, confident little guy who loves being part of the action. Sprite, the black and white girl, is sweet and outgoing, while Dixie, our white girl with markings on her head, is equally affectionate and fun-loving.

As much as they enjoy playing, they've also proven to be surprisingly tidy roommates. They keep their kennel exceptionally clean and somehow resist the urge to scatter litter everywhereā€”a rare talent in the kitten world!

These three are the total package: friendly, playful, well-mannered, and adaptable. They would do wonderfully in just about any home and are sure to bring plenty of laughter and entertainment to their future families.

If you're looking for a cat with personality, Pickles has enough of it for an entire household.

This chunky girl is equal parts sass, entertainment, and affection. Pickles is social with people and loves being part of whatever is going on. She isn't the type to hide away when visitors come over.

When Pickles gets excited, she can go from lounging like a queen to tearing through the room with a case of the zoomies that would make a kitten jealous. One minute she's relaxing, and the next she's racing around the house on an important mission known only to her. She also enjoys checking herself out in the mirror, though things can get a little dramatic if she decides the reflection is actually another cat invading her territory.

Pickles isn't a fan of being picked up and carried around, and she's not shy about sharing that opinion. She prefers affection on her own terms and appreciates people who respect her boundaries. But don't let that fool you into thinking she isn't affectionate. In the right home, with people she trusts, we think Pickles would be more than happy to curl up in a lap and enjoy some quality cuddle time.

One thing Pickles is very sure about is that she would like to be the only cat in her home. She's happy to soak up all the attention herself and would prefer not to share her kingdom with any feline roommates.

For more than a year, Aurora has been patiently waiting for someone to see just how special she is.

At 3 years old and around 50 pounds, Aurora has spent far too many days watching people come and go while she continues to hope her turn is coming. Through it all, she has never lost her love for people. In fact, Aurora seems to believe that every person she meets is a potential new best friend. Whether you're a familiar face or someone she's meeting for the first time, she'll happily soak up attention and enjoy spending time by your side.

Aurora loves getting out for walks, exploring the world around her, and playing with her favorite toys. She's the kind of dog who is always ready for an adventure but is just as happy spending quality time with her person.

While Aurora enjoys being out and about in public, she would prefer a home where she doesn't have to share her personal space with other dogs or cats. She's perfectly capable of being around them on walks and outingsā€”she simply appreciates having her home and her people all to herself.

Poncho recently got to enjoy a day away from the shelter, and he made the most of every minute of it!

This handsome 2-year-old Lab mix spent the day at Fremont Lake where he got to splash around in the water, enjoy some ice cream, and soak up all the attention from the people he met along the way. One of the friendly campground employees stopped to say hello and was so impressed with what a good boy Poncho was that she gave him a few treats.

At about 60 pounds, Poncho is your classic Lab. He loves everyone he meets, does great in the car, and is always happy to be part of whatever is going on. Whether he's out exploring, making new friends, or just hanging out by the water, Poncho is the kind of dog who is excited to be wherever his people are.

Like many young dogs, he still has a few things to work on. Poncho could use a little help with his leash manners and sometimes gets so excited to meet people that he forgets all four paws should stay on the ground. Other than that, he's an easygoing, lovable guy who just wants to have fun and be included.

If you're looking for a friendly, social dog who will happily join you on adventures and then curl up at home afterward, Poncho might be exactly who you've been looking for.

šŸ¾ Meet Mojo & Jojo! šŸ¾

These handsome brothers are looking for families of their own! Mojo (brown) and Jojo are about 3 months old and already around 40 pounds. We were told they are Great Pyrenees and Heeler mixes, giving them a combination of intelligence, loyalty, and a love for adventure.

Like many young puppies, they can be a little unsure when meeting new people, but it doesn't take long before their sweet personalities shine through. Once they feel comfortable, they happily soak up attention and enjoy being close to their favorite humans.

Both boys love spending time outdoors where they can explore, investigate new smells, and play with toys. After they've burned off some puppy energy, they're more than happy to settle in for snuggles.

Mojo and Jojo are at an age where they're learning about the world every day. They are curious, affectionate pups who will thrive with families willing to continue helping them build confidence and learn good manners as they grow.

Meet Charlie!

Charlie is 3 years old with a larger-than-life personality. This handsome boy is friendly, sassy, and always keeps us laughing with his antics.

One thing you should know about Charlie is that he is convinced every snack, meal, and treat belongs to him. If you're eating something, Charlie wants to know what it is and if he can have a bite. He'll do just about anything to get a taste. Whether he's giving you his best pleading look or trying to sneak a little closer, Charlie is always on the lookout for his next snack opportunity.

When he's not busy investigating what's on your plate, Charlie enjoys spending time with people and being part of whatever is going on around him. He's the kind of cat who likes to be involved and has plenty of personality to share.

He would prefer to be the only cat in the home so he can soak up all the attention for himself. After all, sharing the spotlightā€”or the snacksā€”has never really been his style.

Thor is a 1-year-old, 50 lb young dog who is very much in that ā€œteenager phaseā€ of lifeā€”full of energy, curiosity, and just enough mischief to keep you on your toes. Heā€™s the kind of dog who is constantly checking the rulebook to see what actually applies to himā€¦ and occasionally trying to rewrite it himself.

Because of that, Thor will need a home that has some dog experience. Heā€™s not the best fit for a first-time owner, but for someone who understands young, active dogs and is ready to stay consistent with training, heā€™s going to shine.

Thor genuinely loves people and really enjoys being out and about exploring the world. One of his favorite things here is chasing a herding ballā€”he gets fully into it, sometimes even tucking and rolling around on the ground while he plays, just having the absolute best time.

Heā€™s smart and picks things up quickly, especially when heā€™s engaged, but like many young dogs, he benefits from reminders and consistency as he continues learning. Heā€™s been working hard on his leash manners and is making progress, especially when heā€™s kept focused and given direction.

Thor is looking for someone who can match his energy, guide him through this busy stage of life, and give him plenty of appropriate outlets for his drive and enthusiasm. In the right home, heā€™s going to be an incredibly fun, loyal, and rewarding companion.

Sprout is a 3-month-old kitten with a big personality and an even bigger heart. This handsome little guy is full of kitten curiosity and is always ready to turn everyday moments into an adventure. Whether he's chasing toys, exploring every corner of the room, or looking for a playmate, Sprout approaches life with enthusiasm and excitement.

Like any growing kitten, Sprout loves to stay busy, but he also enjoys taking time to relax after a day of fun. You'll often find him stretched out in a cozy spot, recharging for his next round of kitten antics.
