Fresh, clean, and wrapped up like the goodest burrito 🐶🛁

This is Ferguson after his bath, cozy in a towel and soaking up all the attention. He truly does amazing with anything you need to do with him—handling, grooming, baths… you name it. He didn’t argue for a second about bath time and actually insists you help him into the tub like it’s a team activity.

Ferguson is eager to please, incredibly gentle, and happiest when he’s getting love and attention from his people. He has the softest soul and the calmest presence, and moments like this really show just how special he is. Whoever ends up with this sweet boy is going to be very lucky. 💙🐾

Fasso has been posted many times before, and yet… here she still is. Nearly a year at the shelter, our beloved little mystery potato remains unmatched. 🥔

Fasso is quirky, grumpy, a little awkward, and very set in her ways. She has the unmistakable shape of a potato with legs and would prefer a lifestyle that involves sunbathing in a window all day, uninterrupted naps, and absolutely no other cats in her line of sight—ever.

She’s not here to impress anyone or pretend she’s something she’s not. Fasso knows what she wants: peace, quiet, warmth, and a human who understands that love doesn’t always look like cuddles… sometimes it looks like coexisting respectfully from across the room.

If you’re looking for an opinionated window ornament with a strong personality and zero interest in feline roommates, Fasso might just be your girl. 😌🐾

Sneak Peek!

Meet Mina, a beautiful Rottweiler who will be available soon! 🐾
Mina is a sweet girl who already knows some commands and is eager to show off how smart she is. She absolutely loves playing with stuffed toys and is happiest when she gets time to be outside enjoying the fresh air.

This lovely lady has so much love to give, and we can’t wait for everyone to get to know her a little better. Stay tuned for more on Mina—you’re definitely going to want to meet her! 💕🐶

We want to send a huge thank you to the wonderful children from Rising Waters Children’s Ministry for stopping by with so many toys and treats for our dogs and cats this Christmas! 🎄🐾

Your kindness and generosity brought so many wagging tails and happy purrs to the shelter. The animals are already enjoying their new goodies, and it truly means the world to us to see such big hearts giving back. You may recognize Cherry — she’s been shared before, and we’re still hoping the right person sees her. Cherry is a high-energy girl who absolutely lives for outdoor time. Snow? Instant zoomies. Yard time? Full adventure mode. And wherever she goes, she must bring along a stuffy — it’s her trusty sidekick for every expedition.

Cherry is an intense, driven dog who thrives when she has room to run, play, and burn off her energy. Because of that, she would do best in a home with an experienced dog owner who understands her needs. Cherry is looking for a home without cats or other dogs, where she can be the center of attention and form a strong bond with her person.

Meet Sardine 🐟

He’s incredibly social, always eager to be part of whatever is going on, and never shy about asking for attention.

Food is definitely the way to his heart. This boy will do just about anything for a tasty treat (yes, the Churu photos say it all), and he approaches snack time with great enthusiasm. But it’s not just about the food — Sardine truly enjoys being with people. He’s affectionate, loving, and happy to soak up pets, cuddles, and quality time.

Sardine would thrive in a home where he can be a full-time companion, chatting with his humans, sharing affection, and maybe negotiating for an extra treat or two. If you’re looking for a cat with a big personality, a loving heart, and a strong appreciation for snacks, Sardine is ready to meet you. 💙

These boys are best buds and can usually be found together, whether they’re zooming around the room or curled up in a cuddle pile for a nap. Falcon is easy to spot thanks to his adorable little mustache, while Kane is his equally handsome partner in crime. Both kittens are incredibly friendly and will happily seek out attention when they want it. Pick them up and the purring starts right away.

They have plenty of kitten energy and will absolutely keep you entertained, but when they finally slow down, they love snuggling up together. Falcon and Kane are just genuinely sweet, affectionate kittens who enjoy people as much as they enjoy each other.

If you’re looking for kittens who will play hard, love harder, and make your home feel a whole lot warmer, these two are ready to steal some hearts 💛

Bellwether Harbor Animal Shelter will be open today during our normal hours (12-4). We will be closed on Christmas Day and will resume normal hours on Friday, December 26th.

No need to worry—our animals will still be well cared for, with staff making sure everyone is fed, safe, and loved while we’re closed to the public.

We wish everyone a safe, warm, and happy holiday filled with love (and a little extra fur). Thank you for supporting our shelter animals 💙🐾

Ethel loves people and will gladly soak up attention from just about anyone. She enjoys playing, hanging out with her favorite humans, and being part of whatever is going on around her. Treats are high on her list of favorite things, and she’s always ready when snacks are involved. One of her cutest quirks? When Ethel is really happy, she drools — it’s her not-so-subtle way of letting you know you’re doing a great job.

Ethel has an easygoing, social personality and would do well in a home where she gets plenty of love and interaction. She’s the kind of cat who makes herself right at home and wants to be near her people.

Ethel is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. She’s ready to bring her goofy charm (and maybe a little drool) to a home of her own 💛

At around 10 months old, Bailey is smart, energetic, and curious about everything around her. She’s at that stage where she’s soaking things up and just needs some guidance and consistency to help her grow into the best version of herself. Bailey has played well with other dogs and enjoys having a buddy to romp around with, but she’s also perfectly happy entertaining herself with toys — honestly, if it squeaks, rolls, or can be tossed, she’s all in.

One thing we really love about Bailey is how gentle she is. She has a soft mouth and will politely give things back, which shows just how thoughtful she can be, even when she’s excited. She’s a quick learner and eager to engage, making her a great candidate for training, enrichment, and all the fun adventures that come with raising a young dog.

Bailey would do best in a home that’s ready to put in a little time, offer structure, and enjoy an active, playful pup who’s still figuring things out. She has so much potential and will absolutely thrive with someone willing to guide her along the way.
