Wild to think that we are so close to the end of the year!
I think most people are aware but not sure if everyone is so I figured I would make a post about it, I will be closed for the entire week next week so I can celebrate my birthday on the 24th and then the holiday with my family. I will also be off January 1st and 2nd.
I am grateful for you all, for the days each week that I get to spend with your beloved dogs, they make me smile, they make me laugh out loud, they make me roll my eyes when they dig holes in the backyard, and they make me fall in love with them more and more every day.
Thank you for the opportunity, to be a safe place for your dogs, a place where you don’t have to worry about their happiness or safety. Just a guarantee that they’re getting snuggled and lots of attention throughout the day.
I’m ready for this 2025 to be over and for 2026, and to see all that it brings with it, I’m hoping we get to meet many new dogs, and welcome them into daycare!

Be safe, know that you are loved and appreciated, and give those pups a kiss for me, see you after the holiday! !

Meet our newest foster, the very softest puppy, Derek aka DerBear, is looking for his forever home! This snuggly, and playful 8 month old, Great Pyrenees puppy is true to the GP character of making everyone around them, fall in love with them! He is also true GP, needing a fenced in yard, and making sure that fence is secure so he doesn’t make his own boundaries! This jaunty boy, is having a blast with his foster siblings, and being in daycare all day, racing around and being a goober! He is extremely loyal and is ready to protect you and your yard from dangers such as, a floating leaf, or owl flying overhead🤣anything to keep you safe, and is not afraid to use his newfound voice to do so! Found as a stray, he is still learning about potty training, but he’s doing awesome! He is learning the wonders of the world and needs someone who is patient and who is ready for ALL characteristics of the Great Pyrenees breed. Not everyone is ready for a stubborn dog, and it’s easy to forget that GP’s were bred to think for themselves. He is very food motivated which will be a huge benefit with training! He’s great with other dogs, cats, and he LOVES LOVES kids! He would be an incredible family dog!
If you are looking to find a new best friend, and you have read this whole post, please send in an application! He is adoptable from The Minnis Sanctuary

Okay friends, family, I need your prayers. The love of my life, my soulmate, Hattie, has a growth on her paw pad. We had an emergency appointment this morning for her and Harley(I’ll go into that in a sec). We are starting antibiotics, pain meds, and steroids to see if the mass goes down on its own…if not, we will go another more invasive direction, which would end in surgery. The word cancerous growth has been thrown around, and I’m a wreck. I’m intensely grateful, for my friend Carly who has been coaching me in positivity, and making sure we don’t dive too deeply into despair. They also said she’s lost a tremendous amount of muscle mass in her back legs, and that she’s in a lot of pain. So thankful for pain meds to help bring that pain level down.
Harley has had a rough couple days, and has been traumatizing us and himself by screaming every time we pick him up, and refusing to move, and trying to bite us. He has tested positive for Lyme, and has a lot of pain in his back. X-rays show there is a little cramping of discs too. He’s on pain meds, and Lyme medication. He’s going to be okay, but it’s was super scary seeing him scream and act so not normal. But there’s a lot of relief knowing he’ll be okay.
We’ll know next week if it’s an infection in Hattie’s foot, and that the steroids bring down the inflammation. Or if we have another more terrifying path to travel down. So if you don’t mind, take a moment out of your day, and send love along the wavelengths to her😭

Please be patient if there are days that I need to close and we have an appointment randomly. Hattie is our number 1 priority right now, and also keeping Harley safe and quiet.

Let’s talk about dog friendships! When Pogo started in daycare, boy he had anxious feelings about it, and his play bestie was Georgie, but his absolute favorite friend, was Remy. I get it, Remy has this really grounding and calm energy, and Pogo said yeah that’s my jam! He went from not settling down during quiet time to sleeping next to his ultimate bestie! He still loves Georgie, but Remy is his safe and favorite place to be. He is constantly finding Remy throughout the day and kissing all over his face and following him around with adorable wiggles and wags🥹

While we humans can help our dogs feel safe in the world, the best teachers are their fellow dogs who teach by example, and communicate their energies and behaviors. That goes for good and bad teaching🤣cause you can bet Georgie and Iorek taught Pogo to dig holes in the yard😑yeah thanks boys, now we get to fill those in every week so ankles don’t get broken🤣

After months of healing, our sweet little friend, Milo is back! You may remember that months ago Milo was mauled by another dog while in his front yard minding his own business. He’s been working hard with a trainer to feel safe and more confident in his world again, and today he came back and is doing awesome!
Dogs are incredibly resilient, and he is showing that by showing up today, and being excited to be here, and being brave and meeting a new dog(our foster) without fear! We love you Milo man, and are so happy you are back with us!

I’m afraid I’m late posting this, too much going on outside of work!
I will be taking time off from work from Tuesday August 19th-Tuesday August 26th. I’m looking forward to this time to recharge, and come back with even energy to bring to daycare!
Thank you all for being such an incredible community❤️

I had the privilege of knowing Lacey, for almost all of the 16 years of her life. I knew her from the time when I worked at a local kennel, and she came home with me because she was anxious there, and she was happy with me, and I was happy with her. Lacey was a quiet, sweet, sassy, goofy girl. She befriended everyone she knew, dogs, cats, chickens, everyone wanted to be her friend. Lacey, she became a true part of our family, my parents dog at the time Hamish, they were inseparable, when she would come to stay. I had the honor of seeing Lacey one last time, this year. And I knew that it wasn’t gonna be long. But she knew who I was, knew she was safe, and she still brought out that sassy hilarious side. Where she was scolded me if I was too slow in making her food, or if I didn’t fluff her blanket it’s just so. She still had that bright look in her eye whenever she looked at me. She passed away this morning, and her mom was kind enough to let me know. I feel aching spot in my heart, but I feel intensely grateful that I got to know Lacey all of these years. I am intensely lucky to know every single dog in my care, and I love them so much, just like I love Lacey so much. Hold your babies close, and give them a kiss for me, please❤️
