If you need stairs we have a pair for free. They are soft but sturdy. Made for a smaller breed dog, not super wide. Call the office for pick up. That way we can take down post.

Air Quality Alert for Mid-Michigan Pet Owners

There have been a lot posts regarding air quality for people but we want to acknowledge our pets needs. While we may notice the haze and smell, our pets can be affected even more.

To help keep your pets safe:
• Keep walks short or postpone them if the air is smoky.
• Keep pets indoors as much as possible with windows closed.
• Provide plenty of fresh water.
• Avoid strenuous play or exercise outdoors.
• Watch for signs of smoke irritation, including coughing, wheezing, difficulty breathing, excessive panting, eye irritation, or unusual tiredness.

Pets with heart or lung disease, senior pets, puppies, and kittens are especially vulnerable.

If your pet is having trouble breathing or showing concerning symptoms, contact your veterinarian promptly.

Another heat wave is upon us!

As temperatures climb, remember that the heat can be dangerous for our furry family members. Keep your pets safe by following these simple tips:

1. Make sure fresh, cool water is always available.
2. Provide plenty of shade if your pet spends time outdoors.
3. Walk dogs early in the morning or later in the evening when temperatures are cooler.
4. Avoid hot pavement, it can burn sensitive paw pads. If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws.
5. Never leave your pet in a parked vehicle, even for a few minutes.

Watch for signs of heatstroke, including excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, bright red gums, or collapse. If you notice these signs, seek veterinary care immediately.

Keep outdoor playtime short and encourage frequent breaks in a cool, shaded area.

We’re screaming Happy 4th of July! Keep your pets safe and watch when you open doors they don’t bolt. Every year we hear a story of a freaked out pet that breaks away. Also, enjoy the break in the heat so we can celebrate our country! POST a PICTURE of your pets plans for tonight.

Shout out to the team that chose to work tomorrow. There will only be one doctor but they wanted to be available for those in need. The appointments will be a bit more limited with one doctor and some very dedicated talented team members. These two came in all decked out for their appointment today! Such cuties.

We had a canceled procedure today, if you need an appointment call the office. We have appointments open every day this week but already filled up for Friday (there might be one or two). With weekend fun in the sun please call office for preventative medicine. If you take your furry loves on trips, let’s be sure they have everything they need to stay safe. Ticks are heavy and we do not recommend using shared water bowls sitting outside of shops (just a couple of questions asked this week).
