NOTICE FOR ANYONE WANTING TO INQUIRE ABOUT MY SERVICES. PK9 will be on break until October 12th.

I will be taking a pause for the next couple of weeks. I will not be accepting new clients, answering emails, or new phone calls unless it is an emergency case (for example, involving dog bites and potential euthanasia without intervention).

FOR MY CURRENT CLIENTS
For the week of October 6th - 10th I will not be doing any private sessions. I do plan to notify everyone, but wanted to add this just in case. Besides that, nothing changes for you guys! I do ask for your patience if I'm slow to reply to messages.
....
I'm struggling a lot with my mental health this month more than I wanted to admit, as I've got a lot on my plate. The biggest thing is my partner is leaving to go on a 6-month deployment. After he leaves, I need time to be sad, adjust, and figure out a new routine for myself and the dogs. Something I will admit to is the fact that my quality of customer service has suffered due to the above reasons, and I apologize to anyone who may have been frustrated with my services this month. I truly understand each client I have has put their trust in me to invest in my services. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you feel things are not meeting expectations, and I will gladly listen and try my best to accommodate any issues.

If you've read this far, I appreciate your time, and I hope to come back refreshed and with some exciting changes for the future of PK9.

Thank you, and I look forward to accepting new clients in October!

Alright here it is, the post about how proud I am of Riot!

When we first started pursuing French Ring less than a year ago, for whatever reason I truly didn't think we could get very far with it. I doubted not only my skills but my dog.
Riot has proved me wrong SO many times during this journey, I can't even count the amount of times I said "he can't do that" "he won't". He forced me to think outside the box, humble myself with learning new things, and to be patient.
When we stepped onto the trial field I told myself I would settle for a barely passing score. That day we came out as the highest score for our division. I kick myself for not letting him prove me wrong sooner.

I'm so SO grateful for the lessons he's taught and the new things we get to explore together. I can't wait to see how far we can take this, we're just getting started buddy 🧡

Here’s the video from our trial!
We had the highest score in our division and I couldn’t be more proud of us, especially Riot. I have so much to say about this dog but I’ll say more about him once I get our photos back and posted. For now enjoy his trial video, the fun bitey stuff is 2 minutes in 😆

Congratulations to Midnight and her owner for completing our board and train program!!

Midnight struggled with reactivity and anxiety, her owners struggled to walk her with how much she pulled and barked at other dogs. After her time with us and her go home sessions, Midnight is now regularly taken to the park, walks nicely on a leash, and easily ignores other dogs in public!

Congratulations to Buddy and his owners for completing our 4 week board and train program!

They've wrapped up their final go home session and are doing awesome!! Buddy came to us as a young dog just needing to get a good start with learning both
house and public manners. Now he can manage when people come over and be taken out into public without any issues!

His owners have done an awesome job of being committed to learning how to improve and being open to critiquing from us. They've also spoiled us with many human treats 😆💜

Congrats to Billy!!

Billy successfully completed his 2 week board and train program!

Trainer Denise worked with Billy to have better house manners and obedience so he could be more manageable in his owner's house. Working on those things have especially helped him with being around the other household dogs and when guests come over. Denise was happy to report after today's follow up lesson that they're doing awesome and she's so proud of them all!!

Daphne did it! Her and her owners have successfully completed our 4 week board and train program!

Daphne's owners came to us when she was around 5 months old wanting to give her the best jump start to a well mannered and more fulfilled life! Because of her training with us she's on the road to having a lot more freedoms in life!

At 7 months old she's now able to heel on a leash, follow obedience commands, and work towards off leash training! All these things allow her and her owners to go out in public with ease and take her along more often! Especially for fun things in the future such as camping or day trips!

While they have completed the program, this program includes lifetime support. We will still be working together on occasion as Daphne gets older and works towards more advanced obedience skills!

It is with a heavy heart that I'm making this honorable post for miss Blue, one of my client's dogs.

Yesterday I was informed she passed, unfortunately it was not unexpectedly. She had been diagnosed with bone cancer and there would be no way to extend her life without loss of quality.

Her owners were kind enough to let her board with my partner and I for a final time so we could say our goodbyes and spoil her as she deserved.

I have met and worked with SO many dogs in my career so far, but this gal was a special story for me. Blue and her owners were my first board and train client to train completely on my own and living in my own house.

Blue had been adopted by my client's daughter in Texas but Blue, being the husky she was, turned out to be quite the escape artist when left alone. Going as far as to break wire crates and chew through apartment walls! Due to these behaviors Blue needed to go elsewhere hence when my client had her daughter fly Blue here to Washington where I was contacted shortly after her arrival.

Having board and train dogs AND being a first time renter was quite the learning curve! Blue definitely made sure I didn't leave a stone unturned!

Because of Blue I did the following:

- Invest in cameras so I could watch her and know when to rush back home when she was trying to tear up one of my wire crates 😆

- Invest in a large Impact dog crate that is made of metal and fully escape proof! 🤣

- Make sure to lock the front door always because she certainly tried to let herself out 🤦‍♀️

- Pay attention to my outside side gate that she also jumped once and make sure to ask future owners if their dogs will jump fences

When Blue wasn't trying to escape, she was the sweetest dog you could ever meet and had such a fun personality. After her training, It was such a treat for us when she came to board because we could do just about anything with her and take her along with us to just about anywhere.

I had such a small part in her life, but I'm so thankful I got the privilege to be her trainer. My heart and deep condolences go out to the family who loved her SO much! Thank you for letting me be your guy's trainer.

Rest in peace Blue 💙

Congrats to Yugi and his owner for completing our board and train program!

Yugi came to us as a very insecure guy who was very wary of our trainers. He also suffered from reactivity especially with dogs. Now Yugi can confidently be out in public, join us on our pack walks, and be off leash reliably!! His owner has put in so much work to get him where he is outside of our sessions and we are SO proud!
