I have three well-bred Morgan broodmares who are bored standing in the pasture. They haven't been bred for several years since I lost my stallion to colic. But I hate to see their genetics going to waste. They would cross well with other breeds too. Aphrodite's last foal is a 4 yr old gelding owned locally by a friend. I still have Regal's 3 yr old filly and Mya's 3 yr old gelding. I would consider leasing or selling these mares to the right people. They are sound,.healthy and current on shots. Just need new Coggins..

It has been 1 1/2 years since I lost my beautiful stallion and his last two foals are now yearlings. I have thought a lot about what to do with my three broodmares and think that offering them for lease to other Morgan people or perhaps to folks who wish to breed half Morgans would be best for them. Each mare has great bloodlines, but each is different from the other. Glick's Regal Hawk (AMHA #0172997) is 17 and her last foal is now a big yearling filly. Trinket's Aphrodite AMHA #0181089) is 14 and her last foal is not a 15H 3 year old gelding. I still kick myself for not breeding her that last year. Mya Drumsong (AMHA #0182186) is 13 and her first c**t is now a yearling. These mares live outside year round, are not pampered and eat fescue, weeds, and occasional carrots. They are all up to date on all shots, coggins, worming, teeth, hooves trimmed, etc.

My original goal was to breed affordable all around family Morgans that would be good at many activities: trail riding, local horse shows, driving, dressage, etc. over a long lifetime. I did not show my foals and I disagree with riding a horse until it's at least three. If I were 50 years younger and had the money to start over, I would probably breed gaited Morgans to ride because my knees are so bad. I think that there is a real market for them in my age group now. If you are interested in pictures or more information about any of them, or live close enough to visit them (12 miles from Fredericksburg, Va), please message me.

We lost Maverick (Englands Crimson Tide) late last winter to colic (a large colon displacement). Maverick’s final foals are now nine weeks old and growing so fast. Their personalities are already so different. The filly is a momma’s girl and does not want to get out of her sight which makes her a pain to lead away from the barn. The c**t does not care as long as he has grain. He also had no problem walking over a tarp last week. I hope that he grows up to be a gentle and easy going hunk like his sire was.
