It has been a long while since my last post. Long story short, I made a slight career shift and am now teaching building trades and wood working at the local high school. I have also started doing turning demonstrations at schools and turning clubs. I'm still doing my own work, just not as much as I was. These are my latest two bowls made of mesquite burl. Let me know what you think.

Carob is an ornamental tree that is cultivated for its pods which are ground into a powder. The carob powder is used to replace cocoa powder in chocolate. The carob tree is native to the Mediterranean Region with Spain, Italy and Portugal being the top producers. Carob can also makes a beautiful bowl.

I'm behind as usual, but had a chance to do a couple of bowls. One is already gone and I didn't get a picture. Here is the latest one, Mesquite and curly maple inlaid with Sleeping Beauty Turquoise. I spent some time with my son in the shop and here he is with his very first bowl. I'm really proud of the little man.

I've been extremely busy and haven't had time to post anything. Let's here the bison jokes. I made a delivery to Smileys Taxidermy this morning and this is what he had sitting on top of one of my bases. These bases can also be used to showcase art work as well. So if you need something to display a bronze statue or blown glass let me know.
