Well, this girl finally gave birth to 23 littles. Unfortunately the litter came while I was out getting some necessities for the fur buddy. Even Aspen isnt guaranteed to assist them puncturing their sack. 17 live babies photographed. Going to help them get bigger and thrive for their baby brother and sisters that cant be here with them. While its a great day, I still allow the loss to get to me. Welcome to the world little ones!

Thank you Tiffany Oviatt for being a great person and saving this lady from danger and is now a mother. Cant wait to give you a new buddy once again.

Hey all!!! Had my other Florida Blue Eastern give me 15 babies today! I assume it may be a double sire, but time will tell. A lot of shades in this one. Some appear visually normal Florida while others appear brighter and reddish than ive ever had from them.

Got off work around 1:45 am to find one of my gravid florida blue easterns (Thamnophis Sirtalis Sirtalis) giving birth. It is almost 3am now and she is pushing them out in a much longer span of time now so I think she is getting close to finishing. All alive at the moment, 12 healthy ones and 1 runt (but giving some extra attention to keep it alive). You'll see me breaking the sack just as a precautionary measure to make sure they do not suffocate. Most will exit on their own, but ones similar to my runt have a difficult time breaking through since they are less developed and their sack is generally stronger at that stage.
