My wife and I have been researching Brittany hunting dogs for several years. We were impressed by the French Brittany breed. We turned our attention to researching French Brittany breeders in Texas. We discovered Plum Creek Kennels. Art and Mary have a gorgeous piece of property just outside of Fredericksburg in which they raise French Brittanys. We called and expressed interest in their dogs and were invited to come visit. Upon arrival we were quite impressed by the stand-alone facility that they have designed and built to raise, train, and breed their dogs. The property and the kennels are organized, clean, and give the dogs plenty of space. We were most impressed with Art and Mary’s passion for their dogs. They truly treat all the animals like family.
Art and Mary’s neighbor, Craig owns a beautiful bed and Breakfast, The Vine on Middle Creek. It is very convenient to Plum Creek (Next Door). We arranged to spend the night at The Vine. Craig provided a wonderful breakfast the next morning and then we headed to Plum Creek.
We purchased a beautiful Orange/White female French Bittany, Bree. She is very sweet and full of the hunting drive. She is only 12 weeks old and is catching on to retrieving and she has strong instincts to point. Art is an avid bird hunter and goes on many trips with his dogs to keep up training. I can’t wait to join him on one of his trips when our puppy is older.
