Today is such a beautiful day. We are happy to return Gretel to her special home in Stafford tomorrow. It has always been sad when people don't pick up their pets after we have so lovingly sent them to the Rainbow Bridge. I think the longest we have shared space with a pet is 7 years. Often people are surprised that we keep the pets - but they were once part of someone's family and we hope that there will be a time when they will be reunited.
It will be cool today, but enjoy the sun!!!

Hooray!!! After meeting with the committee in Richmond, Ben has been cleared to be put on the transplant list!!!
We are excited although it will be a long process finding a match we are heartened that things will move forward.
Thank you for all your well wishes and thanks! It is truly appreciated.

It is with sadness and tears in my eyes that I have to notify everyone that due to the health issues of my husband and son we will have to suspend Animal Rites, USA. We have had a wonderful 13 years, and have loved everyone we have met. It has been an honor to help pet owners who have lost their pets. Being able to be there at the end of a pet's life, give them a silent blessing and give them their final ride has been a wonderful gift that I shall cherish.
Please know that you all have given me a gift of trust and I will be forever grateful. And a special thanks to Caroline Animal Hospital who believed in us and what we did.
Thank you for everything!! Love to all of you!

We are so sad this weekend with the loss of the Ramirez' dog in a fire. Such a cutie he will definitely not leave his owners but be with them forever. I really believe our pets stay with us and become the spirit that surrounds us forever.
Rest in peace, Lucky.

Good News!! The case against the Buxton's was dismissed. I can't tell you how many animal owners I have talked to since this case was in the Free Lance Star who think this was an injustice.
Only animal lovers could understand the pain this family went through and we applaud the outcome.
Now maybe the family can start the healing process of missing their beloved family member.

A Merry Christmas to everyone! A candle was lit last night on Christmas Eve for all the animals lost this past year.
Cherish the time you have with each of your "friends" and we
will be available again in 2016.

Well, folks, it's now been over 15 days and I still have the shingles! I advise everyone to get the vaccine. . . it is no fun. Don't know what happens when you get it on your back - I have it in my head.
Hopefully this too will pass.
Did anyone see the meteor showers last night? I have read that they were beautiful out in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Have a good day and look into the shingles vaccine if you have had the chicken pox.

Just imagine it is the 10th of August already! Hope you all had a great week-end. As promised I am continuing on with biographies of our pets. This is Charlie or Charlene as she was called when we picked her out at Petsmart. You never know what the real names are but "Charlie" seemed to fit. She is the biggest of our cats and poor thing - she must have been starving because she lives by the food bowl and water bowl. We (or I) chose her for company for our other cat, Betsy, after the last of the other cats died. Well, was that ever a mistake! Betsy has let us know she was perfectly fine being the only cat. But Charlie loves to be patted and loves attention.
Have a good evening and I hope all is well with all of you and your furry friends.

Good Morning! The sun is out and another chance to make things right with the world. As promised I have another of our family members to introduce you to: this is Alice. Alice visited us for many days one winter so we started feeding her on our porch. Finally one night - it was 7 degrees out- we just couldn't leave her in the cold so we brought her in. And in she has stayed ever since. Alice is the most vocal of our cats. She "talks" all the time. And she loves to cuddle.
We are saying "goodbye" to Dixie this morning who is joining Willie on the trip to the Rainbow Bridge. Please keep their families in your thoughts.
Have a good day and enjoy the sunshine!

Since I have not been on this very often and I know I should keep in touch with everyone, I decided I will introduce you to our family. This is Phoebe, who is 18 1/2 and showing signs of being 127 years old. But she still is strong, doing her walks around the house and loving her rides in the car. Like all our animals, Phoebe was a rescue and we didn't have a clue about Chi's 14 years ago. But now we wouldn't have anyone else. She has been such a great part of our family. And smaller than any of our cats!
Have a good day! It's gorgeous out!
