Our training horse is finally outside. He is hanging with the donkeys and one other horse in the pasture. He is still very scared of everything but his reaction is getting better and better. We will see how he does being outside with so much space and if he will still let us touch him and his him scratches.

On Tuesday I had the honor of taking campers from Camp Breakaway (Camp Breakaway is a free, medically supervised overnight summer camp in Grantsburg, Wisconsin, for children ages 7–17 with cancer or life-threatening blood disorders, as well as their siblings.) on trail rides. This was our 5th year doing this activity for them. They stay at Luther Point Bible Camp for the week.
Our ride starts out in Camp at the top of the hill and we walk up the road to Co Rd M and cross, with the help of our traffic staff. Jason, Maddy, Josie, and Karlee. We then we make 2 laps in the woods known as outpost. We were lucky enough to see deer running around the woods for each of the rides. The kids have a great time and Emma and I enjoy hearing their laughter and amazement at what they are doing. Some of these kids have never been on a horse or seen one in person. It is always fun to watch them be brave after all the things they are already dealing with.

Enjoy the photos (it's hard to get 11 riders in a photo) each ride that went out there was a total of 12 riders including Emma (drag rider) and myself (lead rider)

Camp Breakaway provides a summer camp experience for children with cancer or life-threatening blood disorders and their siblings.  Our camp lets these kids breakaway and enjoy all life has to offer.

Last night we had a troop from Osceola come for a 2 hr ride to help them get ready for their trip in a couple of days. They are going to a scout camp in New Mexico and are gonna spend 7 days or so riding horses. We hope they have a great time and stay safe on their travels and on the backs of their horses. Thanks for coming and getting some more experience before your trip. Have fun.

Last day of horse camp for Luther Point. We had some much fun riding today i forgot to take some photos. Below is all of the riders getting ready to do some arena games. They were able to do poles and barrels this morning and then this afternoon we went on a trail ride. It was not as humid as earlier in the week but still hot. The horse flies were not fun so we decided to do some trotting to see if we could keep them off us. All the girls had a good time and "warned" me they would be back next year. They had fun and some conquered fears this week.

Today was another warm one so we did something a little different. We rode horses ba****ck so they did not get to hot. The girls had a blast. We even got to play in some water.

Today we attempted a trail ride but the horse flies were so bad we had to abandon the trail we were gonna go on. The tried another and they were as bad but still driving the horses crazy so we came back early. The girls were good about it and said at least it was something. Tomorrow ia gonna be worse so it will probably be horses some and water a lot. We have a sprinkler at least.

We have another week of horsw camp. This week we have Luther Point Bible Camp here with 9 campers. Yesterday was a hot one. We spent some time in horses but not much due to high heat index. We learned how to communicate with our horse.

Due to the extreme heat and humidity today and tomorrow Frontier Stables, LLC will be closed for all riding. We will reopen later this week should the rain stay away. We will however be closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday due to the 4th of July weekend.

While the horses are ok with the loud noises the increase in traffic, loud noises and things floating in the sky tend to be to much for them some years so we just air on the side of everyone saftey. Have a great holiday weekend.
