•Public Notice to Clients & the Equine Community ⚠️

Unfortunately due to information being brought forth by the America Association Of Equine Veterinary Technicians, Colorado State Board Of Veterinary Medicine, International Veterinary Chiropractic Association, as well as the American Farriers Association.. We regret to inform past & present clients that our previous apprentice is no longer authorized to represent or reference CO Foxy Trims as any form of certification, training, or professional endorsement within their farrier background.
We have been recently made aware this individual has been misrepresenting and falsifying professional credentials to perform fraudulent & unknowledgeable services. We have also been made aware of their known history by these associations as well as clients who prefer to remain anonymous, to have repeatedly caused mechanical injury and/or chronic lameness to equines. Foxy Trims would like to greatly apologize for this & publicly state we have formally ended any affiliation with this individual.
Once again, we sincerely apologize for any confusion this may have caused our clients and the equine community. Moving forward, any apprenticeships, mentorships, or ride-along opportunities with Foxy Trims will require verified proof of certification and/or formal education with references prior to participation.

CO Foxy Trims remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of equine hoof care and professional integrity, even during our temporary retirement! We thank you all for your understanding & continued trust!

-Sincerely, Lilly Davison

Therapeutic & Performance Specialty, why do I do it? As simply put, the process & the reward.

Performance has always been the easy part for me, they stand pretty & the feet are near perfection. Your clinches are seamless & your shoe have no need for real shaping… Being a therapeutic specialist though? It has never been an easy road to take in farriery. You don’t typically get the good horses who fall asleep allowing a crisp clean job. You don’t get the feet that have been nitpicked pretty every 6 weeks on the dot. You don’t get strong hoofwalls & full soles.. there’s no classical music & pretty pony polish. Therapeutic Specialist means most of the cases you spend at a rescue intake, working had in hand with vets to fix manmade neglect. Some savable, some who leave with the tail braided & cut. You see the horses/mules/donkeys aggressively thrown away like burnt trash. They have fear & avoid touch, so you’re lucky to clinch with a forward foot .. let alone have the foot up safely for 12 seconds. They’re in pain & white line is severely misshapen, so forget a beauty contest nail line unless you’re aiming for blood. The feet are underrun & sometimes curled. “Standing em’ up” in a day you’d hit the bone. You’ll get kicked, beaten, bitten, knocked over, knocked unconscious, break bones, bruised, & more.. it’s a process. Rehab is a process! People tend to forget they’re not perfect & it will take time to fix & time to heal. They judge the cover before having ever read the story or playing one of its characters. They expect flawless from the flawed & forgotten. An unfair expectation that deserves a better hand. A gentler hand.
Therapy cases are mirrors, each reflects your patience.. your skill.. & your ability to understand. It’s not for every vet; farrier; chiropractor; body worker; massage artist; etc. & that is okay! But for those it is, true reward is never in the money.. but rather the gifting in an equines first steps to recovery. It’s a growth process I’ll forever love.

It’s not for everyone, but it was definitely for me. Why do I do it? I do it for the ones who just needed a chance.

We are Maggie and Thomas Lambert, formerly Diamondback Equine LLC (we are keeping that page running for our clinics and continuing education opportunities). We just moved to the Pueblo area, and are excited to offer our services to the public. We offer barefoot trims, glue-on and nail on composites, corrective & therapeutic shoeing, and both hot and cold shoeing.

We both bring a wealth of professional teaching experience and advanced knowledge of equine anatomy and hoof care to every horse we work with. Our background in education and hands-on instruction ensures clients receive top-quality, anatomically informed farrier services—combining expert craftsmanship, proven techniques, and a deep understanding of equine biomechanics to support soundness and long-term hoof health. We look forward to meeting new clients, building lasting relationships, and helping both horses and owners thrive.
