A friendly reminder to all of my past and future puppy parents:

As a breeder, I make a lifelong commitment to every puppy I bring into this world. That is why my buyers are contractually required to contact us in the event they may need to rehome their dog.
I understand that life happens and circumstances may change. There is no shame in realizing a dog is no longer a fit for your family. If that happens, I ask that you reach out to me first. My door is always open to the dogs I have bred. I care deeply about their health, happiness and well-being. Returning a dog to me allows me to take responsibility for the life I helped create and keeps one more dog out of an already overwhelmed shelter system.
I’d like to extend a HUGE thank you to St Tammany Parish Animal Services, for contacting me immediately upon scanning the microchip of an owner-surrendered dog yesterday. Their willingness to reach out reflects a shared commitment to doing what is best for the animal. Thanks to their quick action, I was able to step in and take responsibility for a dog who has always mattered to me and ensure she is placed in a loving home, without having to endure the stress of staying in a shelter environment.
A contract is more than paperwork. It’s a promise to put the dog’s welfare first, for their entire life.
