Hello Kyle -

We’ve been out of touch for awhile… Spring is a crazy busy time getting the cottages ready for the rental season. Trixie is doing great and we love having her in our lives. The neighbors have embraced her - nickname of freckle face, she plays with her squeaky toys, her dog friends and their people (see pics) and loves the chipmunks, which are too fast even for her.

We think of you every time we hear of storms in Arkansas… seems too often these days! As we approach Trixie’s second birthday, we are planning to send a check celebrating her adoption. So, keep an eye our for it (sorry, we don’t transfer money online). Hope that you are well and have been spared from nature’s wrath. :)

The dr mentioned again about dogs getting dementia. Said she might start pacing more at night and they can get vocal. She has been pacing some but she paces when her skin gets bad. I’ve noticed since she got that depo earlier, she’s already acting better. She ain’t vocal tho. 😆 she’s never been vocal. She will bark every so often if we aren’t being fast enough with her food. She growled one day at a dog outside. I’ve got to find her furminator brush cause man she’s shedding so bad. I have tumble weeds in my house.

Dinky, Bambi and Lulu brought Penny and Sue to visit on Sunday. They had a great time running all around, eating broccoli stems and cookies. Thanks for the visit all!

Hi Kyle,
Hope everyone is doing well. We are all good. We sent in the dna to be tested for Bill and Winston. I thought you would enjoy hearing the results

Mr Bill is
78.2% Golden Retriever
21.8% Bernese Mountain dog

His mother is Bella -Thomas’ dog

The test picked up his PRA progressive retinal atrophy. He has inherited the genes for Ichthyosis a skin condition which he may have had an issue with a while ago. The Bernese Mountain dog is a surprise. A good dog. Never would have guessed it. I thought Irish setter maybe. I can see the Bernese in him now

Winston is
50% Golden Retriever
28.3 % Lab Retriever
21.7% Poodle. Standard
He didn’t have any medical issues to be concerned about. I thought his eye issues may have been on the test but weren’t.

I remember the owner of one of Winston’s siblings posting his dna on Marley’s World. Thought he was poodle and lab too. Do you remember? I was hoping to see his relatives but they probable used a different company for the test.

He isn’t a Vizsla after all. His muscles must be from the Lab side. This means Ginger is 100% Golden retriever

How is Ginger doing? Winston is adjusting better. How is Sassy doing? Hope she is doing good

I'm a French dog but we are very multi cultural here at Marley's World. I just found out that in Mexico they celebrate my day on May 6th, Cest de Mayo though they spell it Seis. In case you don't know, my name is Cest Si Bon (sorry no diacritical punctuation mark on my computer) Which means It's so Good!

This is where Lulu has to be anytime I'm in the bathroom. She makes it a little difficult to get in and out of the tub when I want to take a shower. Yes, she has been stepped on occasionally but she won't stop curling up in that corner. No privacy at all in this house. The handrail came with the house, and I was going to remove it because I'm not quite that decrepit yet. I'm glad I didn't because it comes in handy when I'm trying to maneuver around a large dog. Hey Kyle, I just wanted to let you know how spoiled Frisky is. He is living the good life. We are working on his weight( little to heavy) we will get there. He is doing great. He goes with me to the veterans home to visit my dad and everyone else. They all love him and he is so good with them. He still lives frisky, ball, and frisbee. I don’t run anymore, but we walk and hike. Working on staying in the kayak on the river( we are building a home on north fork river in blue ribbon landing. He loves it there. He is such a smart boy and is loved beyond words.

Part six:
Shortly after Grover drove off with his new family the whole Marley's World gang started howling. Most of them had been here long enough that they understood that he was adopted. I think they howl both because they know they will miss him and partly because they wish it was their turn. For many years Lori sent us the cutest updates. They were from Grover and went like this:
"Hi Paw,My tiny Hooman loves me and Dottie and Howdy so much. Sometimes I think my heart may burst. She is pretty great. Mom Hooman taught her how to pet gentle and give soft hugs. Those are the best. Gotta go, Paw. Luv, Grover"
Then like usually happens, the updates slowed and stopped until last week. Lori messaged to let me know that Grover was very sick. They didn't want him to suffer and took him home from the vet for a week of very special loving. He had medication to keep him as comfortable as possible. He seemed to rally a little but soon it was clear it was time.
I am so grateful that Lori and family included me in this final part of Grover's earthly existence. Lori sent a video with her final thoughts on Grover.
Till we meet again my little hammer headed puppy.
