Dr. Cheek and Mrs. Jennifer had a fun-filled morning with Mumford School’s PK4 students as part of their Community Helper unit. The children learned all about what a veterinarian does, the importance of rabies vaccines, and how to always find an adult if they see certain wildlife.
The highlight of the morning was Momo the Monkey “surgery”. During surgery, the students learned about the different organs inside the body and how veterinarians work to keep animals healthy. They got to see how doctors use tools to carefully remove objects, and we talked about why it’s important to keep pets safe from eating things they shouldn’t.
It was a hands-on, laughter-filled lesson that gave students a memorable look into the caring world of veterinary medicine. 🐾🐒✨
