Over the past several months, I’ve done a lot of reflecting on life, loss, and what comes next.
Losing Lee and then my mom just 2 months apart felt like losing my entire family. There were moments I honestly wasn’t sure what the future would look like. At one point t I was convinced I didn’t have one. Grief has a way of changing you, and it’s a journey I’m still walking every single day.
But if this season has taught me anything, it’s that family isn’t always defined by blood. My friends have surrounded me with more love, encouragement, and support than I ever thought possible. They’ve carried me through some of the darkest days of my life, and I will never be able to fully express how grateful I am for each of them.
Another blessing has been finding my way back to church. I’ve been attending faithfully, participating in Bible study, and growing closer to God than I ever have before. My faith has become my foundation, giving me peace when I couldn’t find it anywhere else. I know without a doubt that God has been walking beside me through every step of this journey.
With all of that reflection has come a decision.
Many of you have asked what the future holds for Lucy Lou’s and whether I would ever leave Franklin. After a lot of prayer and thought, I’ve decided that I’m staying right here for at least the next few years.
Lucy Lou’s isn’t just a business to me. It’s where so many memories were made with Lee, who helped build it and became its very first employee. It’s where I’ve met incredible people, cared for thousands of amazing dogs, and built friendships that have lasted a lifetime. It’s a place that still brings me joy every single day.
So for now, you’ll keep seeing me at the grooming table, loving on your pups, laughing with my wonderful team, and doing the work I truly believe God has called me to do.
Thank you to every client, every friend, every family member, and every person who has prayed for me, encouraged me, or simply checked in. You may never fully know how much your kindness has meant.
Life looks different than I ever imagined it would, but I’m hopeful again. And for the first time in a long time, I’m genuinely excited to see what God has planned next.
From the bottom of my heart… thank you for continuing this journey with me. ❤️
