This is me walking in to a small business to pay for a service we never got!

The kids were off school last Friday, so that’s the day we made our son’s appointment at the barber. We woke up Friday morning and forgot all about the haircut. My husband was off too so he decided to take the boys out for a fun day about an hour away. Then a couple hours later my calendar notification pops up reminding me of the appointment. There was no way he could make it back in time. So I called the barber, cancelled the appointment, apologized, and told him I’d be right in to pay him. Tip included. It wasn’t his fault we forgot the appointment. He showed up and was there waiting on us. Today, we are rescheduling the appointment and we will pay for it again! Yes, we paid for a haircut we didn’t get and will pay for another one we will get. Because it was OUR FAULT! Stop cancelling and no-showing your small businesses! Imagine showing up to work and not getting paid!

Halloween is full of treats, costumes, and spooky fun, but it can also bring unexpected dangers for our pets. 🎃🐾
Chocolate, xylitol, raisins, candy wrappers, button batteries, and fake spiderwebs can all turn fun into an emergency. With the front door open all evening, or lots of new faces walking through the neighborhood, even a normally calm pet can get frightened or escape outside.
I want every pet parent to take a few minutes before the trick-or-treaters arrive to make sure their four-legged family members are safe. Keep candy out of reach, pet-proof your decorations, check ID tags, and create a quiet retreat for pets who need a break from the commotion.
And don’t forget to include your pet in the fun! A little pure pumpkin or a homemade, pet-friendly treat can make Halloween special without risking their health. 🎃
