Before you embark on your summer adventures, keep an eye out for these 3 warm-weather pet hazards. ☀️🐾
1️⃣ Hot Pavement 🔥
If it’s too hot for your hand to touch for 7–10 seconds, it’s too hot for your pup’s paws. Hot asphalt, concrete, and sand can cause painful burns and blisters.
2️⃣ Bee & Wasp Stings 🐝
Curious noses and paws can lead to painful stings. Watch for swelling, limping, drooling, or difficulty breathing and contact your veterinarian if symptoms appear.
3️⃣ Snakes on Trails 🐍
Summer means more snake activity. Keep pets on a short leash and within sight during walks and hikes to help avoid dangerous encounters.
A little awareness goes a long way in keeping tails wagging all summer long!
