Having your dog engaged and focused shows how well we’ve built his/her pack drive.

Building pack drive increases the connection between the dog and the human handler, and letting the dog look to his/her human for cues, direction, and instruction.

This is a key skill in all training but works wonders in cases of fearful, anxious, and reactive dogs, especially.

Car rides are a common concern we tackle in training.

Many dogs only hop in the car to go to the vet. …ohhhh boy 😬
So it’s not a big mystery as to why there’s anxiety surrounding car rides.

Stop it before it begins, or let’s get it turned around if it’s already started.
Get in the car with your dog to do all the things!

🐾 Take a drive to the bank.
🐾 Grab coffee and a pup cup.
🐾 Make a short trip around the block and bs j.

Start normalizing car rides, breaking that patterning, and reshaping your pup’s perception of what a car ride means. 🚗
