Who We Are
Take My Paw Rescue was founded September 19, 2008 by a group of kind hearted people dedicated to the health and welfare of companion animals. We are a 501c3 tax exempt, non-profit, no-kill rescue, giving all that we can to save as many lives as possible. We are strictly a volunteer/foster based rescue, and have no paid staff. We do not have a facility, so we foster all of our rescues i

n our own homes so we may give more one on one care. Take My Paw Rescue gives all the love and care to these animals until a forever home can be found for each one. 100% of all adoption fees and donations go directly to the care of the animals. The only compensation we receive is knowing we have saved the lives of animals that would have otherwise been destroyed.

To the one who guided her blind owner down 78 floors, and then calmly led him 40 blocks to a friend’s home.

To the one who refused to abandon his owner, even when urged to go - staying at his side until they both reached safety.

To the one who was among the first to arrive at Ground Zero, risking his life through fire and falling debris to save others.

To the one who used her awareness and deep empathy to know which firefighters and first responders needed her comforting presence - or a safe space to release their emotions.

To ALL the nearly 300 K-9 teams who were deployed to New York to assist in the search and recovery efforts at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the Fresh Kills Landfill. Who risked their lives, their health, and their strength to search the debris day in and day out.

Today, we take a moment to honor your bravery, amongst all those who ran beside you ❤

In moments of unimaginable chaos and heartbreak, their loyalty has been unshakable. Dogs remind us that heroism doesn’t always roar - it often comes with four paws, steady eyes, and a heart that knows only devotion.

To every dog who has stood beside us in our darkest hours: thank you. Your bravery has saved lives, your empathy has mended spirits, and your loyalty has shown us the truest form of love.

To the heroes who ran toward the fire when the world stood still.
To the workers who never came home.
To the lives cut short yet never forgotten.

To the hands that held each other through the smoke and the sorrow.

To the firefighters, police, medics, and all who carried the weight of that day you showed them what it means to be unbreakable.

To the dogs, loyal and tireless,
who searched through devotion and purity.

And to every soul lost,your light rose higher than the towers, carried on wings of remembrance.

Today we bow in silence, for courage that inspires, for the memory that keeps the world united.
