While we know this is a sticky topic, some will not like what we do no matter how amazing and different we are. However most will love and appreciate what we are offering. I truly appreciate your passion We’ve heard the concerns from our community, and I want to take a moment to share our mission and address them personally. At Petopia, we truly understand your concerns because they are the same ones that motivated me to start this journey over a decade ago. Like many of you, I wanted a safe, loving, and transparent way to find a healthy, happy furry companion—one raised with care and compassion from the very beginning.
That vision inspired me to create Barefoot Acres, where our puppies have been lovingly raised for years. Now, we’re taking that passion to the next level with our very own storefront in downtown Raleigh—Petopia.
Our mission is simple: to provide a unique and welcoming environment where families can find their perfect puppy while ensuring every dog receives the love, care, and attention they deserve.
Here’s what makes Petopia truly different:
• Partnerships with Local Shelters: We’re proud to work with local shelters to help their dogs find forever homes. By giving them a voice and platform, we aim to help every dog in our community thrive.
• Puppies Raised with Love: Our puppies are born and raised in a no-kennel environment, surrounded by fields of grass with plenty of room to roam. They are cared for with daily routines designed to prioritize their health, safety, and well-being.
• Ethics and Transparency: Petopia provides an ethical and trusted alternative to shady sources like online scams and stores that prioritize profit over animal welfare. We’re raising the bar for the pet industry—and we’re proud to lead the way! Here you will find a welcoming and home like environment to come melt your worries away. Whether you want puppy snuggles or looking your perfect new furry companion we are here to help.
• Puppies on Site with Personalized Care: Puppies will only be on-site between 12 PM and 6 PM, and only when I am there to ensure their care and comfort. During this time, they’ll enjoy plenty of community cuddles to help them build socialization skills and brighten spirits. Then back home with me to their estate where they will roam and play!
• A Positive Space for the Community: Petopia is more than just a store—it’s a joyful space where families can connect, spirits can be lifted, and everyone can enjoy a trusted source for their furry companions.
Whether you’re looking to adopt from a shelter or find the perfect puppy for your family, Petopia is here to provide a safe, loving, and joyful experience. We’re not just connecting families with pets—we’re building relationships and spreading happiness in our community.
I hope this message clears up some of your concerns and shows you I’m setting a bar and opening something unlike what the public is use to. Hopefully this bar I’ve set can become the new basis for the future of the pet industry and change this current perspective into what we’ve all wanted and demanded for years!
