I wasn’t expecting to get emotional over a giveaway entry, but here we are. 🥹❤️

There’s no feeling quite like realizing your children are proud of the dreams you’ve worked so hard to build. 🥹 My oldest daughter, Skye, surprised me by entering a custom belt buckle giveaway for our Eowyn Farm Team. But it was what she wrote about our farm, our journey, and everything we’ve worked toward that brought me to tears. Knowing she sees it all and is proud to be part of it means everything. 🩵🖤

😍 FIRST TIME GETTING TO WORK WITH THIS HANDSOME GUY!

Another busy day at Arabian Rescue Mission, Inc.., and I finally got the opportunity to work with Angus personally!

Meet Angus, a gorgeous bay gelding estimated to be around 6–7 years old and considered grade.

I’m not entirely sure what breed this guy is, but what we DO know is he’s one cool-moving, smooth dude!

Angus was absolutely perfect for all three of us — me, Skye, and Ben! He seemed more than happy to be out getting some saddle time today.

I love getting the opportunity to work with new horses, learn their personalities, and discover what they’re capable of. Angus definitely made a great first impression!

🥹 SOMETIMES THE HORSE YOU WEREN’T PLANNING TO WORK WITH IS THE ONE WHO STEALS YOUR HEART.

Ophelia wasn’t even on my list of horses to work with today at Arabian Rescue Mission, Inc.., but I just HAD to spend some time with this girl.

She is the dam to Jazlene, the beautiful palomino filly from last week’s visit. She’s absolutely terrified of people, isn’t halter broke, but she’s also incredibly curious and SO intelligent.

We did a little join-up session today, and it really seemed to make a difference! She still wasn’t quite sure about being touched, but she was happy to let me into her space and even boop her nose a few times.

She seemed to enjoy our time together just as much as I did, and would visibly become more curious whenever I walked away.

I’m looking forward to more sessions with this beautiful girl. We have a long way to go, but every little breakthrough counts. ❤️

❤️ NOT EVERY TRAINING SESSION INVOLVES A SADDLE!

Another busy day at Arabian Rescue Mission, Inc., and these two ladies got some much-needed socialization time!

✨ Passion — The fiery red sorrel Saddlebred-type mare got some extra attention today as Ben worked on helping her become more comfortable with another friendly face she hadn’t gotten to meet yet.

✨ Quartz — This beautiful flea-bitten grey mare also got some one-on-one time with Ben. She was a little more accepting from the start, but still unsure - they had at least seen me visit a few times before I actually tried to touch them lol, but it was great seeing her interacting with him!

It might not look like much from the outside, but something as simple as walking up to a horse, offering a treat, and expecting absolutely nothing in return can do SO much toward building trust.

No pressure, no expectations, no harshness. Just positive interactions and allowing them to become comfortable with people.

Skye and Ben both volunteered their time today, and I’m so proud of the opportunity they had to help these horses in their own way. Sometimes the smallest moments make the biggest difference. ❤️
