**IMPORTANT BIOSECURITY ANNOUNCEMENT**
Due to the recent EHV1 outbreak spreading across the country, we will NOT be attending any races as originally planned. The safety of my horses and my students'/clients' horses will always come first, and not one will be put at risk.
Lessons ARE still on currently at the farm only. If you come onto my farm from another farm, show, or after being around other horses, you MUST follow proper biosecurity protocols:
• Change your clothes
• Change or thoroughly disinfect your shoes
• Wash your hands
• Disinfect yourself and anything that may have come into contact with other horses.
This is not optional. This is to protect every horse on my property.
I am not allowing haul ins for horse training or lessons at this time unless it is cleared by me that you have not been anywhere with your horse or around any other horses that have traveled anywhere to have any potential of contracting this virus.
Why this is so serious:
EHV is a highly contagious virus that spreads through respiratory droplets, contaminated equipment, clothing, and even between horses without direct contact. It can cause severe respiratory illness, neurological symptoms, miscarriages, long-term complications, and in some cases, it can be fatal. One slip in biosecurity can expose an entire herd. Yes my horses are vaccinated against this, but this is a new strand that does not cover the neurological symptoms of this virus.
My horses’ health and safety is non-negotiable. I appreciate everyone’s cooperation and understanding as we take every precaution necessary during this time. We will resume back to normal only when it is safe to do so.
Everyone please stay safe, and thank you for respecting these request to keep our equine friends protected. 🐴🙏
