While Fort Worth's dog parks are now open, it's important that everyone continue to follow recommended COVID-19 safety precautions.

Fort Worth's dog parks are very popular with both dogs AND their humans, so visitors must wear a mask, social distance, and wash their hands/use hand sanitizer. Also, humans should not take their dog to the dog park if they're sick, have COVID-19, or have been exposed to others with COVID-19.

Both ZBonz and Fort Woof Dog Parks are still closed due to COVID-19.

Fort Worth's dog parks are traditionally highly-used, very social facilities for both dogs and their people.

The CDC has made the following recommendations, specifically for dog owners:

- Pets should not interact with people or other animals outside their household.
- Walk dogs on a leash.
- Maintain at least 6 ft from other people and animals.
- Avoid dog parks and other public places where large numbers of people and dogs gather.

Therefore, the City of Fort Worth is not reopening dog parks until a later phase of our reopening efforts.

In the meantime, dog owners are encouraged to explore the outdoors with their (leashed) pup on any of our trails or at any of our parks.

The most recent updates to facility openings can be found on the city website:

This list of programs and services that have been impacted by COVID-19 and related emergency declarations will be updated as needed.

In order to keep social distancing requirements, Fort Worth Parks has closed Fort Woof and ZBonz Dog Park until further notice.

On-leash dogs are welcome to continue visiting parks and trails as long as the 6 ft. social distancing barrier is maintained.

Please use the National Recreation and Park Association鈥檚 guidelines for social distancing in parks and trails.

- Do not use parks or trails if you are exhibiting symptoms.
- Follow Center for Disease Control's guidance on personal hygiene.
- Be prepared for limited access to public restrooms and water fountains.
- Share the trail and warn other trail users of your presence and as you pass.
- Observe Center for Disease Control's minimum recommended social distancing of 6 feet from other people at all time.
