Clover Lane Urban Farm We are a big family, living in a tiny house, learning how to be more self-sufficient on 1/8th of an acre in the Cultural District of Fort Worth.

Queen "Bloody" Mary's reign has come to an end. She was a good queen, but unfortunately she loved the bad boys and created a hive that unleashed a reign of terror on our tiny farm. She was sentenced to ex*****on on May 1st, and her subjects were allowed a period of mourning before their new queen's inauguration.
Two years ago today on May the Fourth we installed our first hive, so it is fitting that our new Queen, Amidala, began her reign today. We also laid Queen Mary to rest in our garden near the salvia and bluebonnets. We're not sure what other beekeepers do, but we feel that our queens deserve a nice burial. ❤️

Did you know that you should remove all blossoms from new strawberry plants during the first growing season? As hard as it is to pluck off these cute little blossoms, removing them will allow the plants to focus their energy on growing as well as increase production. We will continue removing the flowers through the end of the month, and then hopefully we'll have a big harvest later this season!
