Grow Southeast, Tabor Farms & Greater Mount Tabor are repeat offenders of not paying people, late payments (pay you when they feel like it) and expect labor & respect!

August 19, 2024 former manager Jhamal Huckaby Grandmother passed away and there was no support from Growsoutheast, Tabor Farms or GMTCC. Mr. Elvis Bowman agreed to do the eulogy August 28th. In that same week he didn’t reach out to check on Jhamal to see how he was doing let alone had his church staff send anything . All he was worried about was money!

The week of August 19 Linda Fulmer and Grow Southeast had a secret meeting after Jhamal said it wasn’t a good time due to the passing of his grandmother.
2 days after the funeral Mr. Bowman decides I’m not paying you this week due to the lack of harvest.

It’s the audacity to stand there and do a eulogy knowing you wasn’t going to pay this man. Mind you Jhamal still put in some work at the farm even while grieving. Time and time again Jhamal let it be known he needs more help to meet these unreasonable requirements Mr. Bowman had!
Jhamal still attended zoom meetings with grow southeast and not 1 person sent condolences!

The next following week he turned off direct deposit and proceeded with paper checks.
This is only 1 instance where the staff at Tabor Farms went without pay.

NOBODY IS GETTING PAID FOR THIS BUT YOU WONT PAINT A NARRATIVE BEHIND CLOSED DOORS, IN MEETINGS OR TO YOUR CONGREGATION! The truth will be told!

It is with great sadness that Tabor Farms announces the closure of our operations and will no longer be open for business or serve the community. We sincerely thank all of our supporters, volunteers, and donors who helped us establish the food forest. Unfortunately, decisions beyond our control have led to this outcome.

We had been looking forward to welcoming volunteers this February and March to help prepare for the spring season. If you have any questions or concerns, please direct them to Greater Mount Tabor Christian Center and Pastor Elvis Bowman.

We would also like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our Farm Manager, Jhamal Huckaby, and Farm Assistant, Diamond Moss, for their unwavering dedication, hard work, and passion. Their individual and collective contributions to Tabor Farms have not gone unnoticed, and we are truly grateful for their commitment.

Tabor Farms 👨🏽‍🌾will not have a market stand or participate in any markets this coming Saturday July 20th. We will be harvesting & selling fresh okra starting Monday until Thursday morning 7am-1pm.
