This time of year, we see an overwhelming number of homeless kittens and cats coming through our doors—tiny babies, mamas doing their best, and sweet adult cats who’ve found themselves without a family. Each one has a story, and each one is hoping today might be the day they find love.

Imagine living every day with a broken tooth, infected gums, or constant pain - and not being able to tell anyone.

That's the reality for many of the animals that come through our doors. Dental disease is one of the most common and painful conditions we treat, and without the proper equipment, we can't give them therelief they desperately need.

This , we're working to raise $3,800 for a Dental Cleaning unit - and thanks to the generous donors on our previous posts for this machine, we've already raised $430 . That means we have $3,370 to go to bring comfort and healing to the animals who need it most.

🐾 Meet Just Jim! 🐾

Look at all this handsomeness! 🩵 Jim is such a good boy — sweet, smart, and oh-so-polite. He was the perfect passenger on his car ride, laying flat in the backseat wagging his tail until we got to Panera for a turkey and cheese sandwich 🍞🧀 (his favorite, obviously).

On his walk, Jim stayed right beside his date—no pulling, no fuss, just pure gentleman behavior. He knows how to sit and shake, and he takes treats gently from your hand like the classy guy he is. 💙

All Jim needs now is a home to call his own. You can adopt or foster him—or give him a break from the shelter with a doggy date or sleepover!

🐾 Meet Our Long-Timers—Still Waiting for Their Second Chance 🐾

Some of our sweetest souls have called the shelter home for far too long—and they’re still hoping today might be the day their forever family finds them. 💔

Here are five amazing dogs who’ve been waiting months—some over a year—for love, comfort, and a home of their own:

🐶 Xavier – 378 days
Meet Xavier! This big guy loves relaxing with his people, always ready for pets and snuggles. Xavier’s calm demeanor makes him the perfect companion for anyone looking for a laid-back buddy.

🐶 Just Jim – 269 days
Meet Just Jim! This sweet boy loves hanging out with his favorite people and soaking up all the attention. He’s a loyal, affectionate guy ready to be someone’s best friend.

🐶 Bash – 229 days
Meet Bash! He’s a very loving boy who just wants to be close to his person. Bash absolutely adores snuggles and will happily curl up with you any chance he gets. He’s a true sweetheart with a lot of love to give.

🚨 $6 SUNDAY 🚨

Meet Mr. Mertle – the tiniest tough guy you’ll ever meet. 💪🐾

This sweet boy came to us as a stray with some seriously icky eyes that aren’t salvageable. Once he’s closer to 2 pounds, he’ll have a double enucleation (removal of both eyes). Waiting until he’s a bit bigger gives him the safest shot at surgery and recovery.

Right now, Mr. Mertle is on pain meds, eye drops, and antibiotics to keep him comfortable and infection-free. And despite it all, he’s full of love, purrs, and playful energy. He lives for snuggles—just don’t mention ear cleaning unless you’re ready for a tiny tantrum. 😅

💜 Without our community’s support, we can’t give babies like this the best chance at survival and the best quality of life. Every donation—big or small—helps provide the critical care animals like Mr. Mertle so desperately need.
