Hull Island Ranch In beautiful Oakland Florida, right off the turnpike..
Our Emus have begun to lay for this season. I've raised Emus (and other ratites) for many years now and have 6 different unrelated pairs of Emus. My original whites came from a old timer in Texas many years ago before the color variation got popular.
I will be daily collecting eggs from for the next few months. I’ve sold chicks from this flock each year and also offer hatching eggs.
I've included pictures of my pairs, all of which are separated into their individual pens, so you can see with your own eyes the adults that I pull eggs from for this sale and ensure there are no white/white pairs which create weak chicks and stunted adults (beware of anyone with white/white pairs). The eggs are collected daily and the eggs you get will be fresh and from different random pairs.
The four pairs who's eggs are collected into one group are as follows and are $150 each:
-White + Blonde
-White + Blonde
-Brown + White
-White (male) + Blonde (female) + Brown (female) trio *(rare to see this but the male services both hens and the hens get along and give me chicks each year)*
If you look up emu genetics you will see that the above pool of eggs will always give at least a blonde chick with most giving a very good chance of white. Also note: none of the pairs are white/white because that just makes weak chicks and stunted adults. Strong chicks/adults come from the mixes you see in my pictures.
I have two more pair that are both blonde/blonde birds and the eggs from these two pair are kept in their own box and will produce chicks in the following ratio: 25% brown, 50% blonde and 25% white. These eggs are 120 each.
Pick up is available here at my farm near Orlando.
I cannot guarantee your hatch success and sales are final. This is the risk of hatching eggs. My birds have produced many chicks for me over the years. - Hull Island Ranch -
