WHO NEEDS 4 POUNDS OF SPUNKY SENIOR SASS AND LOVE TO COMPLETE THEIR LIFE? I mean, who doesnât!!
Lucky came to us from a situation where he wasnât a priority - he was underweight, needed a dental, had a terrible UTI and hadnât been neutered. RR swooped in, got him the care he needed, and now he has a new lease on life!
Lucky is young in spirit. Yes, heâs 11 on paper, but he still loves toys, short walks, to play fetch really hard like a young dog then to crash hard for a nap. He loves toys, to be held and cuddled and will nap or watch TV with you as much as youâd like. Yes, Lucky is a senior dog, with the silver muzzle to show for it, but he acts more like a middle aged dog and foster mom thinks, God willing, he has plenty of good years ahead of him.
Lucky is very good with other dogs - Heâs easy going! Heâs potty trained, but likes to go more frequently than some - his foster family takes him out every 3-4 hours except at night where he sleeps for 10 hours like a champ (so heâd be best with someone who is home a lot or at least isnât gone every day for hours and hours). Foster mom has him wearing a belly band in the house because heâs marked some, but in his defense, there are 5 dogs in his foster family home and he was just neutered within the last couple of weeks, so the belly band may not be needed long term (though it doesnât bother him at all).
This is one SMART dog too. His recall is excellent, heâs AMAZING in the car (both behavior and he doesnât get car sick), and he travels well in a purse, doesnât bark in stores and doesnât beg for human food even if heâs sitting in your lap. Foster mom âpleads the fifthâ as to whether she may have even smuggled him into a few stores and restaurants where dogs werenât allowed, haha.
Foster mom and dad would let him sleep in the human bed, but as much as heâs a cuddler on the couch, he must have been previously trained to sleep in a dog bed because he will not come onto the human bed without being picked up and will sleep alllll night in his pouf passed out on his back with his adorable paws straight up in the air until youâre ready to get up.
His perfect family is home a lot, may or may not have other pets, doesnât have small children unless theyâre very well educated on behavior with dogs (just because Lucky is so tiny). Lucky would do exceptionally well with a senior citizen.
So, if you think Lucky might be a good fit, reach out to his foster at the email above or submit an application! Foster mom just knows heâll find his forever home quickly, so she encourages you to reach out!
