Big cheers for these incredible teams from Healing Paws for Warriors, Inc. who just passed their one-year recertification with flying colors…even with distractions that would tempt any pup. 🐾🇺🇸

Healing Paws for Warriors is a local veteran-founded 501(c)(3) that rescues dogs and trains them as service animals for veterans facing PTSD, TBI, and/or MST…at no cost to the veteran. From service to second chances, this is what partnership, trust, and transformation look like.

🐾 Our community needs us right now. 🐾

We’re sharing an important update from our friends at PAWS, and it’s one of those moments where the heart of this community really matters.

PAWS recently took in 77 animals as part of an ongoing investigation with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office. This includes 74 dogs, 2 donkeys (one just a baby), and 1 pig. These animals were found without proper access to clean water and are in need of significant care and medical attention.

Right now, this situation is especially challenging because this is an active case. PAWS does not yet have legal custody of the animals, which means:
• They must care for every animal at their own expense
• They cannot foster or adopt these animals out
• This process could take 100+ days

To put it into perspective…
In just the past 40 days, PAWS has taken in 146 court-related animals and currently has only 56 dog runs. The strain is real, and the need is urgent.

💛 How our Dog Daze community can help:
• Share this post and PAWS updates to spread awareness
• Foster an adoptable dog to help free up space
• Donate much-needed items:
– Dog food
– Amazon, Chewy, or Tractor Supply gift cards
– Linens (towels, blankets)
– Supplies for the donkey and pig
• Volunteer as a dog walker
• Even something as simple as providing meals or encouragement to their hardworking staff goes a long way

This is what Dog Daze is all about…showing up for our four-legged friends and the people who care for them every single day.

Spring is blooming all around us… and while it’s beautiful, it can also be a little ruff on our furry friends 🌸🐾

As we head into Dog Daze season, it’s a great reminder that some common plants, flowers, and garden products can be harmful to pets. Those curious noses don’t always know what’s safe and what’s not!

Help keep your pup happy and healthy by:
🌼 Being mindful of what’s in your yard and home
🌿 Checking plants before bringing them into pet spaces
🐶 Keeping an eye on sniff-happy explorers

If your pet gets into something they shouldn’t, don’t wait, contact your veterinarian right away or call the Pet Poison Helpline (855.764.7661).

☕️ We’re in a little recovery mode this morning after all the tail-wagging fun leading up to and during Dog Daze! 🐾

Our friends at Beach Weekend Coffee were the perfect stop to refuel after an amazing event. We even made a new friend, Dolly Mae, a blonde dachshund who was at Dog Daze! 💛🐶

Thank you again to everyone who joined us for Dog Daze, presented by Friendship Veterinary Hospital. We’re still smiling from all the furry fun, friendly faces, and community spirit that made the day so special! 💕
