Do you want your dog to coming running back eagerly to you when called? Try these steps!

1. Have a reward ready. Such as a ball, toy, treat, or affection. Always try to use their highest value reward!

2. Be more interesting. If everything around the dog is more interesting than you they will seek reward elsewhere.

3. Start inside or in a smaller less distracting place. Always start on leash so you can guide them to you. Start with a short leash and gradually move to a long leash (long line).

4. Speak louder! 📣 Especially if outside. Remove any small talk from your sessions and only say the commands. Be clear and be loud enough for the dog to hear you. Use a proper command: say the dogs name, then “here” or “come”.

Stay consistent each day. Set a 15min timer to practice if needed.

Pro tip: if your dog has a hard time being overly excited and recalling away from other dogs and people then limit their greetings until after training a proper recall is mastered.

Located near the beautiful beaches of the Florida Panhandle, we are a large indoor training facility focusing on board and trains, private lessons and working K9s (police/military/sport).

🐕 The ideal candidate has several years of dog training experience in a similar environment using balanced methods and has some experience with working K9s and decoying.

🐕 The ideal candidate would be willing and capable of promoting into a management (head trainer) position to oversee continuity of training, meeting client goals and ensuring team cohesion.

🐕 Duties include assisting with breaking dogs, cleaning kennels & facility, training dogs and logging training, client updates and communication, private lessons and go-home lessons

🐕 Good communication skills, ability to work in a fast paced environment at times and be able to work both independently and as a team are a must.

History: Imported from Europe, from K9 vendor

Ideal home/more info: we were told Sira was single purpose and had never done bitework. We have since discovered that is very likely not true. We’ve done a few bitework sessions and she does quite well. Has nice full grips and appears to handle pressure well. Due to this, we are seeking placement for her as we were looking for a single purpose with no bitework history.

Sira is green, has not been started on odor but does have good hunt for a toy. Strong possession and drive. Initially her personality makes her seem as though she’s nervy but it turns out she really isn’t, she is just rather aloof to people and just likes to pull in random directions a lot. With putting some obedience on her that has mostly stopped and I believe she would bond well with a handler once she has her own person. She’s been around gunfire and was fine with it.

Her food drive is on the lower side but has improved especially as she’s coming out of her heat cycle.

I believe she would be best suited for a LEO or adjacent type working home as single (obviously knowing her history) or dual purpose home.

Crate trained and rides well in a vehicle.

Dog Neutrality Training

- Practice Focus Drills.
- Train early with puppies creating positive associations with dogs. Be sure they are in a controlled environment with other puppies. Not a dog park.
-Start at a distance and reward for good calm behavior. Keep doing reps getting closer and closer if the dog is responsive. Some dogs it takes longer at a distance.
-If your dog is aggressive with other dogs seek professional training!

Over excitement is also considered reactivity and can lead to loosing control.

Yes, so many dogs every year are unfortunately euthanized due to aggression. The harsh reality is dogs don’t understand things in a human world. Separation anxiety easily leads to fear aggression, frustration easily leads to random reactivity, and lack of mental activity leads to tearing up your home. We have to communicate with them in a way they understand it. Then we have to train confidence and scenario based training. Then re integrate the dog into the home. At that time we train the handler. Yes. Handler. Every owner is a handler of their dog and !deserves! the confidence as well to work with them. We hand walk each owner through that process in a structured and loving environment.
